This is something I think needs to be fixed. When you have a persistant world the things you do in the game need to accurately reflect a certain passage of time. In short, airship travel between cities should not be instantaneous in real life. It needs to actually consume game time like the boat ride does to be realistic. Otherwise SE may as well have just instituted a gil fee for teleportation. Adding a new room and a little cutscene is a waste of resources imo.
