How many lots will actually open up?

Im bet that most 20 or 30 plots per server

20 or 30 is really little, 3 housing zones, 8 wards per zone, 2 subdivisons per ward, that's 1440 plots per server. 30 is not even 1 plot per division.

i would guess more like 20%-25% of all plots, which would be around 300.

there is no word on it. the hint we did have is the 18th floor from the calamity 2 year celebration for the hint of them finding new house near Ishgard. other than that we do not know the location or when

Actually..they did mention "possibly" adding housing in Ishgard. However, based upon current storyline, and other things, it more than likely won't happen until the end of the 3.0+ story line, or upon release of 4.0.

well since the timer to remove said house does not start counting till 3.1 launches and then 45 days starts at that release. i would say people have more then enough time to pay to log in to keep said plot.

if they actually care yes. i contacted 3 friends who quit, 1 is going to come back, 1 isn't and 1 is undecided.

^This. I think people will be surprised on how few plots will actually open up. However, even if a ton of plots were to become available, there's no way it would come close to meet the demand.

Hopefully I can successfully stake the plot I aways wanted. That would be a nice Christmas present.
