there was something at one point that gave a mini adventure of sorts: T3. One was essentially reaching the next part of coil that was gated by the enemies (or u could race to the end to see who could reach first without dying for fun). What happened? Community complained it was useless, so they didn't do it again nor did they attempt to expand upon it. So we have what we have.

It would give the feeling of actually progressing through the innards of Alexander up to the Manipulator. Could even add a few extra bits, like a T4/ARF elevator experience pre-Manipulator.
This would be fantastic, everything feels so disjointed at the moment and like we're fighting for nothing. Adding extra mini encounters that drop crafting items/esoterics/recipes/materia/food and pots and allowing us to actually get a sense of the grandeur of the raid as we walk through is something that's been lacking for a long time. Definitely would need teleport points like CT and already cleared enemies to stay dead though to not be tedious. They could even make the trash encounters like Fates where it randomly chooses an event so it isn't the same encounter everytime before the boss.

Variety. Trash mechanics can be fun, especially with things like the environment to consider but it seems SE have skipped over a lot of this sort of stuff and so instead we just pull large groups of trash and aoe them down with more focus on posses.

Raids in FFXIV are just advanced trials, they aren't large enough to be raid dungeons and they certainly aren't like the raids you would get in other mmos (we get them in the form of easy 24 mans). Idk about anyone else but I want trash mechanics for variety (and not just in raids either) and basically just more dungeon content that has actual mechanics throughout and not just negligible ones, especially ones that involve the environment. (traps, weather etc.)

I was actually so disappointed that savage is faust+bosses. A2 and A3 had interesting trash beforehand, they could have done some cool stuff with it.

I get that people don't want to "waste time" on trash but that is because trash currently isn't a challenge. They only reason it ever is is because of big pulls to save time. What they need to do is make trash pulls difficult and interesting and as much part of the raid as the boss fight is. Then they design the boss fights could be difficult but not be SO unforgiving as they are in Savage with the multiple insta-wipe mechanics where if anyone is out of line the entire try is screwed. Then they throw some checkpoints in there, make the trash mobs actually drop useful stuff / give rewards of some kind that is useful and people won't consider it as much of a waste of time. It's just part of the experience.

Insulting people in the counter argument isn't going to change their minds. It will make them stick harder to their opinion regardless of whether or not it's right, and think less of your opinion simply because you insulted them. In essence, if you want to try and change someone's mind, come up with a well thought-out response and don't be a dick.

I always thought Dynamis was a lot of fun. Maybe we will see something like it one day.

That's essentially what the airship locations are supposed to be, at least from what we can tell. It seems to give generic mobs reason to be defeated, similar to how Dynamis worked. Nothing will ever replace the initial feel of how Dynamis was handled when it released. Dynamis was an entirely different beast altogether, where every single trash mob were practically mini bosses where each one of them were threatening enough to wipe your entire raid if designated CC groups weren't careful... and there were tons per pull. They would never do that sort of thing to us, at least not in the foreseeable future. Here, outside of Savage, we'll outgear content before anyone can first attempt them. Most of us wouldn't even realize this significant overgeared advantage. Hell, I'd bet most players will claim the new dungeons suck because they're too easy (while being in full 200 or 210 gear). That's just how it goes with us.

I think the reason I liked it so much was because of how eerie and dark it was. I loved that it was like dark alternate versions of starter city zones. It was an awesome way to use assets in the game already while also providing new and difficult challenges. And honestly the way they did trash mobs in Dynamis was perfect. Sure, it took took hours and having to buy your way in wasn't great but it was great content.

Well in something like Dynamis from XI, the trash is what you wanted because it actually dropped useful gear. Some pulls were also quite challenging/fun. But here, that would die too fast with the treadmill....

Yeah, which is another issue I've talked about in other threads. They need to figure out a way to make content last longer than a single patch cycle.. It's something that worries me constantly. I love FFXIV, I've been around since alpha 1.0, and its upsetting to see new content get forgotten about 2 months out of the 3-month (and this time 4-month due to the vacation) patch cycle. I really do think they could implement a way to scale the mobs in lower dungeons to 60 when in roulette. That way we could experience lower level dungeons again at level 60 and keep them in the Expert Roulette. Then there is an entire mess of dungeons we could do in order to have some variety when running Expert. Instead of 2 dungeons per patch that people come to hate because they had to run them so many times.
