Is "farm party" secret code for "carry me"?

There's a duality of issues here.

The first is terrible leaders who can't actually lead or farm. This is often a major problem for people because they clear one time having other people handle mechanics and then think they are perfect.

The second is the lax attitude of leaders. When I put no bonus, I don't make exceptions. When I put clear, I quickly replace weak links. My girlfriend and I also remember the bad players and kick them often.

There are farm parties that do work fine. Pony farm parties in ARR (before expansion) for example, sometimes.

There are people that join farm parties when they have a clear or two, but not enough experience to have the fight in farm mode. You need several clears so that you reasonably know you will clear every time with no problem (= farm mode.)

A different thing is that people in Party Finder may have never played together and it takes maybe some time to get used to each other.

Some people do join farm parties to get a clear (I hope a very small part of them.)

I don't mind if they do - sometimes you know the fight down to a T and can sleep through it even if you haven't cleared it so far. But if you do join a farm party stick around for a few runs.

For my first Ramuh clear, I joined a farm party (to farm). It didn't say no bonus but people were :| anyhow. We cleared it flawlessly and went on to farm for two hours. I didn't get the pony with that farm, alas.

Finally got Markab this past weekend in a farm I joined, but sadly my Markab was the only pony that dropped before the leader decided she wanted a break. We'd only farmed for about an hour. People just don't have the stamina and patience for farms anymore.

Yeah people do tend to get that in farm parties. But I tend to just laugh when I see the bonus. Was in no bonus farms and we at times made more derps than any kill/clear parties. It really depends on the people.

Congratulations on that. It's not the stamina or the patience. I was never much one for farming. But if you get the right group it keeps going on it's own just from the chatter and jokes. I spent 3 hours in a T9 farm party a couple of weeks ago. Someone wanted the AST weapon, I joined cause I wanted the bow. It was 3 hours of great fun. A few people swapped out, a friend joined down the line as well. Sadly no AST weapon though I did get my bow among the last few runs.


People often forget it's a game. You're meant to have fun. And some of the greatest laughs I got was when people that were farming made the silliest mistakes possible.

I tend not to compare any farm party to bis ex lol that fight is just stupidddd (the mog ex of HW lol)...imo Ravana ex is wayyyy easier lol...

But then again Bismarck requires individual exceptional dps out put where is Ravana is more so individual survival (with a dps check not hard to meet) but the survey clearly shows ppl are way better at running around then actually playing their job correctly.

it's like Opposite Day on behemoth cause the farm parties are dreadful to many ideals that don't agree...
