    First World Primal Boss :O

    Along with my 4.0 tank class <red mage> and 4.0 heal class <time mage> ideas I was thinking that a moving primal world boss would be SO epic. But which primal would fit the bill? Which could move a great distance, but its path be easy to spot and not grief players as it rolls by?

    Hmmmm....

    I know DOOMTRAIN!!!!! :O

    Yup that would be epic. How could this be done? Easy, have Doomtrain spawn at the start of some Imperial train tunnel and travel across multiple zones until its destroyed or reaches the end of the rail and disappears into a tunnel. Anyone coudl participate via either attacking the pistons and wheels to destroy them (slowing doomtrain down to allow more time to destroy him) or by destroying/damaging the railway in front of him (by attacking the rails or placing explosives on them).

    Imaging riding on Doomtrain attacking him as you go passing other players that aether ahead to damage the rail or to jump off a cliff to land on him to help out. That would be a whole new level of Primal/S rank hunting

    This might be interesting, but I don't know how feasible it is given the backend of FFXIV's systems.

    The train would have to move very slowly to allow players to jump on and off like you envision. Also, there's a lot of processing power in making that many destructible enemies like a train track. I'm also really concerned whether it's possible to track hp and save it between entire zones when creating a FATE (it's possible to make it, but I don't know if the current coding supports something like that. If not, it's going to cost a lot of money and time to go through it and recode it). Not to mention the server load and lag spikes when a ton of players suddenly vomit in to one zone at the same time.

    Anyway, those are just my initial thoughts on it. Otherwise, I would like a more dungeon-like or larger arena for a primal fight. The Doom Train seems like it would be a good way for that to work. I'm just not certain about an open-world boss with all the gimmicks you could throw at the players.

    proto-ultima and behemoth also count. They're technically called notorious monsters and appear once a week.

    I would rather see a trial for that, with multiple combat-phase

    Like P1 and P2 = destroying the train's car then moving forward
    p3 head of the train start breaking the armor
    P4 head again breaking the engine

    With a timer enrage in which the train destroy you by going into the void XD

    If they will add doomtrain I will like to see it give it the Alex treatment. For example we could start from the last cart killing enemenies each phase could be a different card and we slowly move to the front were the last boss is

    Meant it more along the lines that those monsters are implemented as FATEs in the game (that do not actually show up until you're actually in the FATE, so they're "hidden") with some kind of area-wide environment change than the fact they were primals.

    Also, Odin appeared first as one of these, and then was later given its own trial as a primal. The design reason was that Odin would change character models to whichever race that last defeated him (male hyur, female miqote, lalafell, roe, etc), and this was the only way to implement that (instead of a Trial).
