Something I notice on the Void Ark

Diabolos might just be a in-between like Atomos or may only be in a cutscene. I don't recall anything mentioning him as a boss other than being shown in an image teaser about the raid. Other than the mother bomb in that hard mode dungeon. Didn't someone ask if we could guess what classic boss we might see in the new Raid? I'm not sure if I noticed anything in the trailer that looked familiar other than the dungeon boss.

Based on what we know of Diabolos it seems like he feed off/ thrives on nightmares/dreams.

Since it seems like those coffins may very well be stasis pods for Mhachi survivors I can see him going there so that he can feed on the sleeping Mhachi dreams. It's in his best interest to keep them alive; hence all he'll have to fight us to protect his "cargo" atleast that might be one of the reasons.

That's apparently his shtick. Still, the Mhachi summoned the Void Ark at the end of the War of the Magi, a time period in which Diabolos was probably already sealed inside the Lost City. While it's still possible, I don't find this likely. Causality and all that. Diabolos might be using the suspended Mhachi voidmages that might be in there, but that's just a convenience he didn't set up.

I suspect he might end up being the 3rd/final boss for Void Ark 2 many months from now.

The Void Ark is going to be a "one and done" type deal; that is, there will be no Void Ark 2 or 3. Just the Void Ark. It's more a sky pirate thing than a Mhachi / Void Ark thing.

Doesn't rule out the possibility of Diabolos reappearing, but there is no Void Ark 2. Or 3. Or 12.

Also, I do believe that Void Ark may very well have been an Alagan vessel that was retrofitted by the Mhachi. Afterall, it does have a somewhat Allagan design. But most importantly, I am sure the 5 Astral Era civilization knew about Allagans, maybe even more than modern Eorzean since they're only 1 Era away from the Allag's golden years

Possible not probable. While it superficially looks Allagan, beneath the surface it's anything but. Aside from the bio-tech vibe compared to Allag's magitek, it's black compared to Allag's love of chrome. We've also been told that the Void Ark was summoned in desperation by Mhachi voidmages to escape the calamity that ended the war... though that's just a rumor.

The 5AE civilizations almost definitely knew about the Allagans, given they weren't around too long ago and they left crap everywhere. Still, I don't get the feeling the Void Ark is a retrofitted Allagan vessel.

Actually between the weapons, furniture (you can check that out either on MB or the Fractal) and the ADS nodes, I thought the Allagins were in love with the tron lines on black aesthetics more than the chrome. Still dosn't make the Void Ark as refurbished Allag vessel theory more likely but still....

Like how the Goblins are summoning Alexander using/into an existing defense system, or why the structure in the lake changed when we got access to Alexander. If its similar, the organic look might be due to a Mhachi summoning of voidsent into the hull of an existing relic from the Allagans era.

I think "chrome" was a poor choice of words on my part. All Allagan shit is shiny, while the Void Ark is very dull.

The Allagans do love their Tron lines, though! (There are some on the Void Ark's "wings," but nothing else, and their coloration differs significantly from the Allagan standard sky blue.)

That's actually an interesting possibility, but I still hope the Allagans had nothing to do with the Void Ark.

I still don't think the Allagans anything to do with the Void Ark. Allagan tech looks very magiteck with spinny crystals and things covered in lights. The mechanical parts of the Void Ark look mechanical rather than the traditional almost Sci Fi look the Allag have.

Its worth remembering while the Amdipori lacked much engineering, the Nym have a lot of gearwork running through the structure of the Wanderer's Palace. Also, its possible there were other cultures in Eorzea's past that managed to develop mechanical technology of that level. It just looks to 'primitive' for the Allag.

I never said that could be allag. Maybe the Mhiachi used some allag creations as references ( with voidsent help ).
