but rather than get to know game that you will one day be paying for. you would rather stick it in a draw, wait till its finished to P2P. miss out 75percent of the game and pay to run around in a few dungeons. at which point you could be playing any MMO and you will have missed out anything that makes this game final fantasy.
    It isn't flawed logic.

    - The game is currently free to play, and levelling can be done in a microcosm of the normal time
    - The game when monthly fee'd will mean I am paying to do what I could have done for free, and having a much more boring time of it

In other words, why pay for something you don't want to do, when you can do what you do want to do for free?

I am in no odds about what I enjoy in these games, crafting, endgame and community. Levelling is a horrible hump in my way to the stuff I want to do. I do it because I like to see full bars, not because I enjoy the levelling aspect, but everything else in an MMo is where my enjoyment lies.

Why would I wait for the game to be pay to play, just to do something I dislike, when I can do it super fast, and for free?

Just to give you perspective, of my 6 years played in FFXI, less than a year of that time was levelling up all pre-ToAU classes to 75. The other 5 years were taken up doing everything else, like meriting (this is an optional progression), storylines for all cities, CoP missions, RotZ missions, ToAU missions, WotG missions, Salvage, Assault, Dynamis, Beseiged, the large scale battles in the past who's names elude me, earning my Relic weapons, working on my trials, and literally thousands of hours of NM camping, HNM pop item farming, and HNM kills.

If you can honestly say that levelling makes up 75% of that content, then you need to revisit school, as you clearly don't understand %'s.

Also, what do I get to know about a game by killing the same things over and over again, that I can't do myself in my own good time?

Comparing a single player driving game, to a massively multiplayer online RPG with a 24/7 living breathing world, filled with thousands of other players in real time.

    I can do this too.

I have a cheese sandwich, but I don't want to eat it because I like playing Water Polo. Therefore I will kill this mosquito on my desk with my hand, and then talk about oranges.

See, makes as much sense as your comparison.

kinda proves my point that you have very broken logic. least what i wrote made sense. anyway if you want to pay for a game you clearly don't like playing, then go ahead power level your way to the end miss out the game inbetween. cya next year when endgame arrives

You keep avoiding the point, what game am I missing out on by power levelling?

I spent 2 hours on Saturday grinding Nobodies just to get my Forms to level 7 in Kingdom Hearts II, by running to and from the save point in the World that Never Was. This is identical to the level grind in FFXIV, and equally as mind numbing.

Now that I have some of my main classes around 30, I am now focusing on crafting and gathering, and the millions of quests to get done. These are humongous tasks in themselves, and I am now able to do what I enjoy in the game, thanks to the little boost PLing gave me.

The fun of F1 is in the driving, and the skill from playing, not lifting the trophy at the end.

The fun of FFXIV is downing humongous beasts, earning rare and exotic armor/weapons, crafting that item that only level 50 crafters can make, and working on your materia. It is not standing in Nophica Wells for the 200th time this week, watching other people in my party AoE pull things, die, and wait for ress sickness, over and over and over.

the character development. the learning to play your player, maybe your happy with just spamming cure? there is the quests the story of the world and the lore. new patches are being released all the time with new content, not just endgame content but stuff inbetween stuff that you want see coz you got your gaze set on the horizon waiting for endgame. but as i say play how you like it really don't affect me. in answer to OP's question PL don't affect me

You do realize the game is being overhauled, right. Battle is changing, zones are going to change. In a years time this game is going to be a lot different. Are you saying all those lvl 50's out there should reroll so they can experience the new ffxvi and learn the new mechanics?

Better yet, lets wipe our characters every patch.

And lore, you can't go back and do it after you're capped?

So in all of the above, where does the need to grind over being power levelled come in?

IMO powerleveling seems to be cheap..
If you power level you might as wel get some cheats online or hack the game and stuff same thing..

Why not enjoy the game ?
