Have you considered, that the reason the content is being eased is to facilitate a speedier completion rate for older contents rather then being eased for the difficulty?

Doubtful, they deliberately put walls/gates/locks in all the dungeons these days to stop people from speed running it, ever since the great days of brayflox HM 10-12 minute speed runs.
