Is Gardening A Dead Content System?

I watched the live letter waiting for a few specific things to be mentioned. Unfortunately, most of what I had wanted to hear about weren't addressed (Summoner Egi Glamours please!?), including this one.

I have a house, my FC has a House, my game wife has a house. The three houses used to have 5 gardens that were never empty. They were churning out everything from Jute, to Mandy Minions to chocobo fruit for months and months. Until Heavensward. When certain quests ruined the chocobo fruit market and the Housing wards all filled up and Jute wasnt worth the weeks of time and effort and everyone had all the minions.

All the items that would have been gardened seem to have migrated to the Airship Venture system or other places in Heavensward.

So my question is... Will 3.1 bring ANYTHING to Gardening? Please say yes.

Even if you can still make decent money from the garden - I'd like new stuff aswell, please! I dont wanna grow jute and glazenuts all day, just because I can sell them. I would like the exciment back that I had when I was growing the first onions for our chocobos I've got tones of jute&glazenuts-seeds sitting in my inventory (and nothing to do with those...) and I would like to grow new, meaningful stuff... I want to crossbreed things I actually care about again... so yes, please! New minions! New furniture stuff! Let us plant and breed plants we need for the airship!

buy soil for 15k, krakka seeds for 4k, plant 40 of them, wait 3 days, ???, profit
you have to pay 760k and get 1.4 to 2 mil gil back in return after 3 days, its not that bad

thav onions also sell for 300k and glazenuts 200-300k etc.

I'm considering this now that I can harvest soil. Start selling soil that I've gathered, use the profit to buy Krakka Seeds, Sell Seeds and Krakka Roots and make a killing.

Not to mention I get to keep a decent supply to my self that way.

I really hope they sort out the housing shortage first. Enhanging a content that's available to only small fragment of the users by a design is a slap on the face to everyone who's out of plot simply because all housing wards have been full for a year. At least give some option to have garden in the private room, even if it'd just be 2x2 planter pot and only one/room. That way less people would be locked out of gardening alltogether.
