    City Balances

I've noticed throughout the last several patches, SE has gone far out of their way to include many things into the grid area or the city itself, as an attempt to bring people to that area more.
I'm not saying its a bad thing, but it is interesting to see them try and lure people to other city states and not just camp Uldah.

But it isn't enough yet, at least for my sever anyway.

So the question is, when do YOU think it will finally be balanced to the point where each city will be full and have its own actual decent wards?

I personally believe it wont be until they put in a complete /sea all sort of function like FFXI, and many other small things of that nature...seeing as many just join Uldah looking for parties.

Still though however, I don't think that'll be enough. Sadly they've already built in a need to shout for cooler events/raids/battles..and of course all will gather too those shouts, like we did in Juneo and then Whitegate. So I guess when Ishgard (sorry if the spellings off) is in, we will finally see the balance, due to lower levels cant access it yet.

I know many will say it'll never be like that, but keep in mind FFXI during its prime and before that was fairly balanced. Yes bastok and san were more populated then win, but it wasn't as far as it is in FFXIV. And again, an addition of Ishagard would change that.

    Your thoughts?

Sadly, unless they shift Eorzea with the redesigned maps, Ul'dah will always remain in the center, and will always draw the most attention.

That is, until Ishgard is introduced. Then all trade will take place there, I think.

I don't see as big of a role of exclusive materials for each starter city, though, like I did with XI (with Bastok having Zinc and such). Without those, I doubt the starter cities will ever be as populated as XI's for trade.

Actually any gatherer could tell you that each area has unique drops. EX. I get mostly zinc ores in lvl10 miner spots near Camp Emerald Moss, while I only get copper ores in spots around Drybone.

With chocobos and airships, there's less need to care about which city you're hanging out in. I just think that everyone's been in Uldah for so long that people just stuck there regardless.

All the game needs is a party search function. Then people will feel more comfortable straying away from Ul'dah for longer periods of time.

But there will always be a social center to the game. For now it is Ul'dah. When they finally open Ishgard, it'll be there.
