lol... Playing as a PLD, I had screwed up a few times because I would use Clemency to heal someone instead of paying attention to a tank-buster.

Thank you so much for your post. I notice a lot of people take healers for granted in thinking that our job is a breeze, but it really isn't. I've been with a lot of tanks that just didn't understand how hard it was to keep them alive when they were undergeared with a STR build and were running outside of my healing range with huge mobs while going around a corner, thus breaking my line of sight. But the wipe is all on me. That's the name of the game, I suppose, so I'm extremely happy to see someone understand what it is we're doing. Thank you!![]()
WinterMaintenance is coming
This is so much of what I love as a healer. Everyone lives or dies by my hand, and where a lesser healer might crumble, I'll stand tall and valiantly do my best to swing even the worst of battles into our favor.
Thanks for the kind words, and good luck in your WHM days. May your tanks be sturdy and your DPS able to kill things!

Split seconds .... oh yes, when to :
1. Cleric Stance or not
2. using Holy as damage mitigation, the damage is just a bonus
3. MP management once you are DPSing.
Just keep practising, you are going about it the correct way. Playing, reading, learning and getting better over time.
My GF isn't on the forums; I'll copy-paste it and send it to her for sure ^^Let me preface this by saying I main a level 60 DRG, I run a second job as a level 60 DRK, and I've recently leveled a WHM to level 50. As a DRG, I find dancing around mechanics while I stab things to death quite simple. As a DRK, I find pissing off everything in front of me and getting punched in the face while others kill aforementioned pissed off things slightly more complicated, but still relatively simple. But as a budding WHM, holy shit, it only takes one big unexpected AoE to have me scrambling! Granted, I'm still learning and am by no means a great WHM, but it took me playing a healer to truly understand the stress healers go through to keep the party alive.
The split second decisions, deciding who can be saved without an ensuing wipe if everything goes sideways, knowing which heal to throw at the right moment, etc.
I just wanted to say thank you for what you all do and put up with in some situations (Healing Horror Stories, I'm looking at you).
I feel bad when I have the Commends when she worked her ass off so we could live through it. >.<
Thanks for the support, Cyric. With more practice with healing, I'm sure you will be as good as any of us main healers.

Thanks OP, much appreciated.

Thank you for the thank you!
Glad to see that you're trying out different classes, it really does put things into perspective. I'm just learning dps rotations now after healing and tanking full time!
Awesome positive post. :3
