+1 for side storyline around the doman kids ^^
I like also Hildibrand, but i think his storyline need a pause to give the story writters time for new ideas.

I missed the part when it was likened it to 8, but this makes me want it even more. Quite frankly both of these two questlines have a chance for more Hildibrand. There is a different side story in 3.1 which wasn't mentioned in the latest live letter for some reason. It's supposed to be about the students in Ishgard attending some school or whatever. They've likened it to FFVIII.
As for Hildebrand... did anyone do the Mor Dhona sidequests from 3.0, that feature the Doman children starting their own adventurer's guild and investigating mysteries? That storyline ended with a cliff hanger, and the plot really seemed to be Hildebrand-esque.
And for the Hildibrand haters: no, the resources spent on the questline cannot be spent on more raids or whatever because completely different people are doing those. It's not taking away dev time from anything. It is a bonus.

I like the quests. Overdo it though and it could easily get old quick. They should lay off them for awhile then come back later fresh.

I enjoyed his quests in 2.1 and somewhat in 2.2... but after that, it was just the same kind of jokes and silly nonsense with him (and his dad). I did like the "reporter" and Elezen investigator, though.

Hildibrand was fine, but it kinda went downhill -for me- when I had to do his quests to re-unlock trial roulette. While it's true they got rid of that requirement it still left a sour taste in my mouth.
Moment they added the Gold Saucer, I was kinda wondering why the Hildibrand Trials weren't given their own little Roulette, which rewarded MGP...
As for Hildibrand... I don't want him back, or rather I don't want him back right away... I'd rather see brief appearances of him during various other side quests for now, similar to Wymond Mail Mog quest. Heck, that was kind of the case with his quests anyway... I'd say the Phantom Thief and Greg owned those quests more than Hildibrand, he was just there for the occasional gag, and he perhaps overstayed his welcome sometimes... Comedy is at its best when you don't repeat it ad nauseum, churn Hildibrand quests out every single update and you start killing what made him funny in the first place, IMO.
I'm definitely glad they're not bring him back for 3.1, his style of humour gets old real quick. I don't know how some people on here love it so much, it wore off after the 2nd quest line for me, to each their own I guess. I'm glad they're reallocating that development time to a new side series, it seems to be more on the serious side too... well, the name sounds serious.

Didn't SE said that they won't make it mandatory to unlock all trials/dungeons for the roulette?
Idk about ya, but I love side stories. Hildy was great. I'm hoping they expand on a few stories from the Delivery Moogle questline. Anything about siblings, always gets me really into the story.
I love some haters around here that needs to buy some sense of humor to their life because they seem very unhappy, if you don't like Hildebrand good for you have a good day, but why would you not want other to have something that clearly the community loves specially some of us who really enjoyed the quest line.
And it's funny because people who say it's bad they probably didn't took the time to actually know what the story was about, skipping the CUTSCENES and not reading the dialog and then come here and bash the quest line saying it's bad....BRAVO to all of you.
Hildebrand quest line wasn't only the goofy fun that it had which is much appreciated but it was also a well crafted story that was intriguing, the mystery of the faceless thief who was always a step ahead, or the introduction of GREG aka GILGAMESH who's funny roll fit perfect with Hildebrand questline. Let's not forgot the over the top fights on the CS that step a big chunk in the quality of CS that makes me wonder why don't have over the little top fight like in Hildebrand.
But saying the "funny" gets old quick as a factor of dictating that the questline is bad, it just show how ignorant most people are and get here giving false feedback to the development team, cutting off something that a big part of our community loved.
And that goofy part of the game is very much welcome, the MSQ is very dark and everything on this game is pretty serius and dark...having a little side quest with a live hearted theme balance pretty well this game and the world itself.
This just in, people can't have opinions on a story. Didn't like LoTR? I bet you skipped half of it you heathen. Didn't like Star Trek? Just get out of here you ignoramus. Oh, you don't like Harry Potter? Just... Just leave.
Why is it so hard to grasp that some people have a different opinion to you? To be clear, the only part I skipped is the final arc/episode/chapter or whatever they call it.
