Thread: 3.1 First update without a new primal?

As far as i have seen this is going to be the first update without a primal fight? I mean comon this update is releasing in 2-3 weeks and we haven't seen any information about it yet.

The only speculation is about a extreme trial Singularity Reactor. But nothing about a new one.

I would be dissapointed if this would be the only trial/primal boss of the new update because i have a feeling the new update is a bit lacking in content already with 1 dungeon less.

Again its all speculation and we will have to see.

They said that the new primal would be teased during the anniversary event. Two phrases were dropped in the developer's room; Singularity Reactor Extreme and Doomtrain minion. While an extreme version of singularity reactor isn't really a "new primal" and wouldn't fit into the 3.1 main story quest, Doomtrain certainly would fit.

Now, why they haven't advertised a Doomtrain fight, I have no idea. You think if they were planning it, they'd use it as a selling point of the patch. For that matter, they've never clarified if we would really be facing off against the Warring Triad during this expansion. The name was dropped, sure, but so was Omega Weapon back in 2.2.

So far I know about 2 dungeons, Airship Voyage (which seems to be the biggest content of 3.1), Lord of Verminion, Void Ark and a new relic.

Doesn't seem lacking compared to old patches at all.

I'm with Tom, we're getting alot from the next update. Two unique dungeons with their own set of gear, a unique 'casual' raid with it's own set of gear, exploring the unique islands unlocked through the company airship and very likely it's own set of gear via crafting, minion battling at the Saucer as well as maybe a parsing mini-game (just a rumor, don't take it to heart). That's alot of work by itself and yet the rage over not having a primal?...

For everyone saying its a lot of content, while I agree, I will compare it to patch 2.3 (which came out after a 3 month patch cycle not 5, so old content was still being done), we got 3 dungeons, Ramuh HM and EX, Hildibrand, Syrcus tower, Hunts, Frontlines, and Desynth. and not to mention 2.1 which brought 3 EX primals (granted of existing bosses, but isn't that what SR EX is?) and moggle mog, I feel like the absence of a primal (or much midcore content at all really) would be felt

They gave massive hints that we might be getting the Singularity Reactor (hard) from the Wandering Minstrel.
