Yes, this thread again.
I really like the music of this game but due to the combat music always interrupting that beatiful soundtrack and having heard the combat songs over and over again I have turned my music off.

I think an interviewer was asked about this by Soken if I'm not mistaken. The interviewer insisted again and again that it wasn't a problem, even when asked several times. I fear that may have set this option back, the battle music can get really boring especially in the open world.
I would love an option to turn off combat music. I always find combat music in games disruptive to my listening experience. Some of the zones have music I enjoy a lot, and I find it very annoying having it interrupted constantly.
They already have the dungeons of level 50 and above play only their area music instead of the same battle music over and over again, why can't we do this for the overworld, too?
I can't stand the combat music anymore. If there was a combat track for every zone or dungeon, yeah, but seriously.. I'm listening to other stuff now.
I sometimes have videos of the Primal themes in the backgrounds

As far as the outside zones go, what 'beautiful soundtrack'? Not to be derogatory towards Soken but seriously, most of the outside zones have about ten seconds of mood music which then fades into silence for an extended period, often only then start up again due to certain periods of the day (sunrise and sunset) or after a certain amount of time has passed, or you've moved to a certain point in the zone where another theme will start to play. Because of this, if you're wanting to listen to the music, just refrain from getting into battle, it's not that hard surely, and won't take that much of your time.
Besides, it's not like this is the only FF game to have a battle theme interrupt the zone music when a battle begins - pretty much every FF game does this (except FFXII), so I would say that's 'traditional.' It's clear Soken does not want to implement such a feature, as if he had he would have done so ages ago.

If you like hearing "zone music", level up a DoL. You'll get your fill.
It's also because the battle music is all so samey everywhere. I didn't even realize there were actually different versions across areas until I looked at the soundtrack and wondered why so many tracks were the same music.
