    Patch 3.1: Crafting Not Reborn

Sorry, but this patch does nothing to save crafting in Heavensward.

    * Specialist recipes from one class gates another specialists' recipes. This is not a good precedent, as it makes leveling more than one crafting class to 60 absolutely necessary, which is the opposite of the intended effect. Why are we being told that we don't have to level more than one crafter to 60, when that is clearly not true at all?

    * No buffs to the specialist system itself. Just artificial gating behind recipes.

    * Crafted 185 items without materia slots, which causes the following problems:

    1) You can't meld materia to them to increase spirit bonding.

    2) NQ is completely, 100% useless for replacement gear. It spirit-bonds slower too, since NQ spirit-bonds slower, and it still counts as 185 despite having 170 ilvl stats.

    3) HQ versions inferior to non-capped Alexander Normal gear for alts

i don't know why they have to $#!&% us crafters so much.

and i don't understand why some crazy people have ASKED for specialist recipes.

why make people UNABLE to do content that was developed!?

don't come with the "ooh but you can change specializations every 2 weeks" bs...
this will burn 480 red scrips for no good reason at all..... while red scrips can be used to get the rare mats required to craft the BiS DoH/some DoL stuff.....

    really disgusting.

Not to suggest that I'm a fan of the system (specialist recipes implemented as they are is probably the worst possible route they could have chosen), but it's a stretch to suggest that being unable to craft/HQ a particular recipe because you don't have certain cross-class skills unlocked is the same thing as being unable to craft your own ingredients.

You can buy Titanium Alloy Ingots off the market board. You can't buy Byregot's Blessing there.

I agree with what you say. Byregot is not something you can neglect at all.

But there's an issue here you might have overlooked. What Mindy suggested there is that you need MULTI-60s. Having multi-50s is a bit different. We can say, Multi-50 is necessary to grab those Byregot etc, but it is still possible to have all-50, one-60 if S-E didn't screw it up like this as Mindy suggested. As for now, you can either be an omni-crafter and specialize in both BSM and ARM to provide ingot for making your own armors, OR you pair up with other crafters/friends to continue being self-sufficient, or you will need alts. No one will pay the MB... or at least VERY FEW people will.

This is a VERY UNWISE way of stimulating economy. They have used this trick before in ARR - making all recipes requiring something else from other classes, and now they're using it again. Indeed, S-E needs some people to teach them how econ works...

The end result is NOT people buying BSM ingots from other specialists to do Armorer work, but just to pairing up with other crafters, and continue NOT buying the ingot from the MB. Meanwhile the money flow among 3 factions - raiders/gatherer/crafters - remain uni-flow. Crafters' money pouring towards gatherers and now even raiders. But not the other way around.

The market is NOT static... money continues to flow, and goes VERY FAST too. But it's all one-sided. The end result of this? More crafters buy gil from gil sellers.

The point you quoted was merely about the gating of materials between different specialists. There's nothing about HQ'ing with one 60 there.

Also, you can totally buy Titanium Alloy Ingots off the mb. You'll just pay more than just the usual lazy crafter tax for those. If there's even enough on the market to do your crafts.

Maybe they want crafters to work together?

Crafters within groups have already been working together. This is an attempt to create an economy with an artificial gating. It won't do much as most groups will continue to operate as they have, and doesn't address the problem with specialist skills themselves not being good enough to warrant use.

The patch notes said we would be able to earn more red scrips. They raised the limit to 500, but kept the weekly limit at 450. What use is that? Seriously?

Raise the limits to 900 and you will help crafters.

    The limit was already 500.

I think the notes mentioned an increase in the number of gatherer red scrips rewarded (presumably for a turn in). I didn't see anything about crafting scrips or caps.
