Steps:
•My character is a Legacy character who was granted their Chocobo during 1.0.
•Once 2.0 began, I already had my chocobo privilege. As I did not have Companion abilities in 1.0, I began the quests to be granted Companion access.
•My Character is :
o Legacy
o In the Immortal Flames : Flame Corporal
o Is on the main story quest Like Fine Wine
o Has completed the prerequisite quest For Coin and Country
• Swift is not providing me with the quest My Little Chocobo. It is not greyed out, instead it is not even an option.
• I am unable to summon my chocobo as a companion. I have Gyasha greens and when attempting to summon my chocobo in a permitted zone, receive the following message: Unable to use companion. Companion not yet acquired.
• I do have a Company Chocobo. I can summon it, have named it, and dress it up. Only the companion function is not working as intended.

You need the quest My Feisty Little Chocobo, available from Docette in Camp Tranquil, not the one from Swift.

You'll also want the follow up quests shown so you can stable it and train/colour it

Oh wow. I feel super foolish now haha. Thank you so much! This quest was available and I am going through it now. Thank you for showing me that I was making it more complicated than it was!
EDIT Completed the quest and now have the companion. Thank you again, I think I was trying to following the original steps to get the quest not thinking to skip the chocobo quest as I already had one from 1.0.

Glad to help. I remember wondering what the heck was wrong when I wanted my companion way back when! Enjoy your new assistant lol
Be warned that they silly birds almost always stand in attacks etc [specially when in healing stance] so try and keep the thing your killing facing away from birdy.
