Weblink in chat

I got a weird and farfetched idea. Is it possible to interact with website links people post in chat? Like when you click on it or in console instance press X/A on the link and it brings up the web page automatically with your default browser?

Especially for console players, keeping on linking stuff to FC chat and half of them can't open it lol.

It's pretty easy to just highlight the text and copy it with ctrl+c.

Even with a keyboard and mouse on ps4 the copy shortcut does not work.

The ps4 simply doesn't have a shortcut in keyboard to copy or paste text.

Or if it does, it doesn't work in game.

Which is odd when you think about it because when on ps4 with a mouse you can select and highlight text, but can't do anything with it.

Actually you can copy and paste links on the ps4 with a KB perfectly fine, you can even copy out of game urls and post them ingame with the virtual keyboard.


What you cant do however, is paste urls copied from ingame to anything outside of your game with the KB, which is a bit strange, but ah well.

Ah I see. I only ever tried copy and pasting in game, never had any other need to on the ps4

I tend to just use an url shortening service for linking links. That tends to make it easy for all to type over.

...cynical? RMT on my server is so bad I've shunted all /tell traffic onto it's own chat tab so I don't have to look at it. Makes talking to people I want to talk to in /tell difficult but not impossible whereas if I hadn't shunted it it would be impossible to talk to anyone in any chat mode with all the spam. Hyperlinks in chat would just give RMT another tool to annoy people with and we're well past saturation on that annoyance as is.
