Can we get an Official clarification on housing Demolish timer (45 or 90?)

Basically, the German version of the game states that the process is 45 days to be considered inactive, then an additional 45 days to lose the plot (Which is IMO much more reasonable). The NA version seems way too ambiguous and makes no such distinction, making many believe the entire process takes only 45 days.

It's 45. Been confirmed on the JP forums, since they too were confused.

Well, that honestly sucks. 3 months seemed way more reasonable.

Agreed. Timing was always key on this, and the main reason this initially didn't make it was the 35 day setting... Ten days extra isn't going to be met with much of a different response... Bad enough they delayed step one in addressing housing this long, without having step two ready as well... I think this news would have gone down very differently if it was paired up with "New Wards!", instead of the Halloween event...

Honestly? I wouldn't mind this if they had planned to initially have a short timer, but then to extend it at a latter date... The main issue currently is plots owned by players who've quit, and I'd want a short timer to move those along as soon as possible, but in the long run a three month timer seems much more reasonable. That 45 days isn't going to affect any real player immediately after 3.1 is released, they'll be enjoying 3.1 after all. In the long run though, 90 days would have been much better...

Really? 3 months is way to long to have an inactive house just cause you didn't want to log on, that's 1/4 of a year. 45 makes more sense, a player who wants to play will be logged at least 9-10 months of the year so if they don't play a month, they have 15 days to go before they lose house.

Proof again that you have no house and know not what you speak of. Again, it may be an extra month and a half of waiting if I take a break, but it's still an over 2 year investment on my part. Just because I suddenly take a 3 month break doesn't magically invalidate 2 years worth of work, nor it means that I don't care about it.

You people keep thinking that just because "We want an extra month" or so means we don't care about the house really shows just how little you know of the situation or how eager you are to tear someones house for no reason (And no, chances are you are not getting a house with this system either).

And your biggest mistake is thinking you that taking a break means you don't care about it. That is the whole crux of the issue. We CARE about our house, and now we are permanently tied to it. Again, basically it means house owners, unlike everyone else in the game, no longer have the luxury of ever taking a break.

No one else but house owners have this pressure. Players on Balmung won't suddenly find their characters deleted because "They needed server space". Your retainer won't disappear if you didn't access it for a random amount of time. Your gil won't suddenly be redistributed to help the economy. Nothing of this happens, except for house owners. This is what's wrong.

If you mean you can't take a break from paying the sub then yes, other if you just taking a break while keeping your sub up all you have to do it log in enter your house log back off and continue your beak.

Not eager, desperate is more like it.

You have no idea how many qualified but homeless FCs there are on your own world of Balmung, I bet. 320 with another several hundred at rank 5 and very active.
Balmung even has 4 owned but completely empty lots. 2 in the Goblet and 1 each in the other two housing districts.

28 of your land owning FCs have 1-3 characters in them all between levels 1-15, and they are not active players.

I don't know about the rest of the community, but I'll be damned if I'll ever go buy a personal house and deprive a homeless FC of all the content that comes with FC housing.

So too bad but, I see no reason why home owners should not be required to log in once every 45 days, although I personally find that despicable behaviour when so many are out in the street, per se.

Oh and chances are there will be a lot more qualified FCs sooner or later. You did have 1906 Free Companies registered on Balmung in August

Yes, and that desperation is blinding people to the issue at hand. People are looking for scraps and trying to justify an absolute terrible system just so they get a very very minor (Read: Minuscule) chance of actually owning a house.

People saying "Oh 45 days is enough" are typically those that don't own a house and are trying to turn a blind eye to the reality that this is terrible. Almost no company would ever offer such an unforgiving timing for anything important, much less a 1-2 year investment.

But like I said, these people don't own a house and I assure you they'll be the first to realize "OMG 45 days too short" about a month after owning one and realizing that you can actually spend months without entering it despite playing daily.
