I want a mount where I ride Cid piggy back style and he laughs happily as he runs.

Why not? They're mechanical devices and we have several skilled engineers on hand that could modify it to make it fly I'm not mistaken. Seems pretty logical to me.

Just look at gobwalker mount, all anything needs to fly is a cheese set of glider wings to pop out of sides lol

Kirin is tributed to asian myths of kirin, and well, has magical wings, and the magitek, like when you'd re-enable its weapons systems, would most likely have a quest to unlock flying (similar to the chocobos).

the wings are the excuse, it doesn't currently have wings and they had to add them. they didn't need to add wings to the Ahriman or dual mount chocobos, those already had wings.

There are plenty of examples of technological walkers similar to this that have flight capability. I'd go as far as to say that the 'wings' are purely cosmetic for the Magitek Reaper in flight, and that instead there is a Magitek flight system built into the device that neither Cid, nor we were aware of.

what you said is the excuse. they never flew before during cutscenes or anything, they usually just seemed to be able to jump really high/far. hovering/flying was never a thing for them until now (which is the excuse).

We already pay them for what they do. SE asks for our opinions and requests, we deliver them, and they implement them (or not) that is the sole reason why we get these mounts able to fly in the first place.

Slapping wings on Kirin and magitek was so hard it cannot be done on other mounts, right?! (/end sarcasm)

yes, we do pay them for a reasonable amount of updates.

all chocobos flying, hovering mounts flying, that's just really base logic and very reasonable. Fenrir stretches to the realm of unreasonable.

Kirin was the bonus that people asked for because lots of people actively farmed for it especially during the lull before the expansion came out.

in my opinion, the Magitek Armors is already way above and beyond.

Right, but do you agree that the likes of Kirin gaining magical wings is more likely (or at least, not break the willing suspension of belief) than a random wolf, bear or coeurl gaining magical wings (or sprouting wings, whichever). Machines always have the benefit of being modular (and in the case of gobwalkers, I have not seen one in action but seeing one in screenshots to have hummingbird-like wings, it seems rather silly but well, so are gobbies in general).

LOL, the images of the flying gobwalker are marginally easier to accept than this*...

So are chocobo wings in general. Even to this date I feel that it's sorta sketchy that chocobos can still fly (compared to say, gliding) with those sort of small wings, let alone a fat one or carrying a passenger. But hey, birds, wings, enkidu.
