gold farmer anti-spam?

I don't know if im alone but i am VERY annoyed of getting tells/spam of gold farmer sells.

Wouldn't be just simple to allow /whisper to level 6+ character only? This would annoy spammers to level a character everytime..

I know what most people would say it's not great if you wanna get in touch with a close friend that just started and all. I just say if it's a friend there's other mean of getting in touch (FB/Skype/ text whatever)

Or any other/better ideas

You can use /busy to stop getting tells from everyone.
A small level cap won't stop RMT tells. They have bots that go through a levelling routine to farm gil out of the game.

Unless it was changed idk, but wasn't RMT sending friend requests and spamming you with their garbage? Once the invite was sent they were on your friends list in pending state until declined, accepted or time expired.

I'm not sure, I get a few now and again on Phoenix, but on my Cactuar account, I get around 10 per hour, sometimes more.

If memory serves, they removed the /tell function for trial game members didn't they? which kinda means these annoying idiots are actually paying sub for spamming this garbage.

Still get the moron bot hanging by MB in Limsa and Gridania spamming rubbish in /say but that can be avoided fairly easily tbh.

I'd like to see two options added.

1. Only receive whispers from friends,
2. full blacklist clear.

I block on average 20 to 30 of these a day and going through black list and removing 200 one by one is a total waste of time. It's the easiest and most efficient way to handle the situation though. Clear and block on demand.

Part of me doesn't want SE to ban these accounts. I rather like the idea some idjut is paying them $12 a month to barf out spam, as long as I have an effective way to ignore it.

Could also get rid of the the player search feature which lets them literally /tell every1 on server with relative ease.
