Yes. Ifrit Raids players attempting to kill him.
raid != not an alliance entering a dungeon with weekly reset.
Actually they use raid in the Everquest meaning of word, like " a lot of people fighting something difficult"
IMO Ifrit is a Boss fight. Obviously not a dungeon, hardly a raid.

Well, we are busting in there uninvited to take his stuff. I'd call that a raid.
The Everquest meaning or Raid was doing a dungeon for a while....maybe even whole day...maybe even two.
Anyone who done Plane of Sky pre-velious and awoken The Sleeper knows what I am talking about...
It's more akin to a battlefield type fight if you use FFXI terminology. It's a raid according to Yoshida.
When it boils down to it, does it really matter?
It is basically like a BCNM or KSNM in XI.
Basically is an instance where you are warped to an arena to fight a boss. Nothing more or less.
Personally I would not call it a raid, I think of those as large scale areas where you take down alot of enemy and bosses. Similar to Dynamis or the large battles in EQ.
Ifrit is just a party battle against a boss, in a instance away from the rest of the server.
