I really do hope that we see the situation addressed as the game's development moves forward. It's really tiresome that a vocal minority get to harass the developers and pressure them into making most of the new hairstyles and gear fit a 'unisex' approach...especially when that usually leads a lot of gear and hairstyles to be designed with an androgynous or feminine look in mind. Removing the gender restrictions on female gear doesn't really do a whole lot to remedy the situation either. That just encourages the developers to continue focusing on making androgynous/feminine looking gear as a priority.

That's not to suggest that there aren't 'masculine' options available - because there are! There just needs to be more of them - and they need to be designed to fit men first and women second...or not at all if they want to make it gender locked.

This "unisex" trend must stop already. We aren't going anywhere with full unisex glamours. I understand that some people like their character to look more feminine/androgynous but we had enough of this trend already. We need more male appropriate glamours. This game is full of feminine and unisex designs while we are lacking masculine options. They are very limited and very very few. And please SE stop with those weird "heavy" armors that aren't that "heavy" anymore. Bring back the nice full plate and chain designs for tanks. This issue must be addressed to bring a balance between sexes.

Why would you want more masculine gear? If I have to see nearly every catgirl naked I deserve to see some hunky male eye candy.

There's plenty of that already - and things can be masculine and provide eye candy at the same time.

"How will people know what a hulking mass of testosterone I am if my armor has a RIBBON?! I need PLATE ARMOR so my enemies know that I am a MAN and I will CLEAVE THEM IN TWAIN with my manly ax and brute strength. Because I am a MAN."

That's a bit unfair, really. Some people no doubt boast that mentality but it's certainly not applicable to everybody posting in this thread. Ironically, if anybody dares criticise those seeking to play feminine or androgynous looking characters they'll often be branded bigots and harassed. Incidentally, why does it bother you? Why not rally behind the people in this thread expressing a desire for more options?

It's rather interesting. There's been no shortage of threads where people have rushed to express a desire for androgynous or feminine armour for men and yet many of those same individuals (with the appropriately designed characters) have a habit of showing up in threads like this and sabotaging efforts for greater variety elsewhere.

I've love more masculine glamours as well, some characters don't look good in the clothing styles we have right now, and some players don't like the styles either.

    Because it would be nice.

I'd also like to change my current glamour every once and awhile, but y'know... Mages have very limited options when it comes to glamour.

My character has been dressed like this for most of HW's life (and I've once Fantasia'd into a female Roegadyn, just for something different) because most Caster gear, especially the Tome stuff, looks hideous. I wish the Goetia set in this game was actually a reskin of the set from FFXI

This is why I stick with a catboy. The mage gear doesn't look quite so ridiculous since Miqo'te are not gigantic and overly muscled as a race.

People have tried to make the point already that there is nothing inherently more "masculine" about Plate armor as opposed to, say, the Welkin Robe. If the ppl like OP really want more variety for the sake of variety, and not because they are grossed out by men showing skin, then they should use more specific wording. I honestly don't care what people wear. I care about the associations being made because, newsflash, people's ideas in this game do not exist independently of the kind of BS gendered nonsense that happens in real life. I mean, did it ever occur to OP that there are men who might be a little put off by the assertion that only certain stuff is "masculine." I personally would like to keep toxic masculinity out of my fantasy world, but that's just me.
