I have posted so many threads that don't have strong views concerning a subject.

But those kind of threads just don't pick up. That's the reality. There will be no discussion, maybe few "good post" replies at best. The thread will get few likes at best, and will be forgotten in an hour.

To get a good discussion going, you need to provide sufficient tools for the discussion to spark. That more often than not means going slightly or more than slightly overboard with your opinion.

So if you want to blame someone, don't blame just the OP's. The whole community encourages said behaviour, because no one gives a damn about reasonable and well thought-out arguments if they don't have any edge to them.
