Can we get an Official clarification on housing Demolish timer (45 or 90?)

I haven't met a single house owner that has gone and said "Oh boy, I sure love never being able to leave the game" or "If I dont play for 45 days then I guess someone can do better with my 2 year investment". Most everyone who says "45 is enough" don't own a house. Even the ones in this thread that said they owned one only have a FC house.

Remember that after all, only about 1.8% of the population has a chance at having a Personal house. And this is a number that will not change even if they start kicking owners at 5 days of not entering the house. The only thing that having a shorter grace period accomplishes is pissing off house owners; it doesn't actually add any more houses.

You are right, there will still be people left out to the dark, cold and rainy eorzean nights. BUT it starts a cycle which will open up the lots from those who no longer play/quit. Something that wasn't happening before. You act as if those who quit the game have enough decency to log back in to give up their house. This implementation is meant to give back what those people left behind with no intent of relinquishing. If SE came out and said 60 days before houses were demolished, you'd still be here complaining that it wasn't enough and we should have 365 days before SE should have the gall to take away your "precious" house. Let's not forget all those comatose people who started in 2014 and would be rampaging when they wake up in 2020 to see their house gone.

Personally, I really hope they will eventually extend the period to 60 days or more. I do understand that the already inactive house owners should be weeded out a bit quicker than that, but in the long run 45 days just seems a bit short to me.

It wouldn't seem nearly as short to me if it hadn't been for two things.
1) There's expensive/hard-to-get furniture that can't be removed once placed, and that is lost completely if your house is lost. (I'm calling them hard-to-get due to the fact that they require people to run old duties synched in order to get rare drops from raid bosses or primals. If SE were to move those drops into chest drops so you still had a chance to get them while unsynched, it'd be less of a concern to me.)

2) Once your house is lost, the time you have to get your money and furniture back is limited. This was a major concern in LotRo as well, when they implemented loss of property for failure to pay upkeep fees for a longer time (usually happening by not logging in for a longer time). Once they made the furniture and house price refund available without a time limit, people stopped complaining as much.
