Well 45 days is a month and a half, so you really can take a 43 day vacation from the game and then resub on the 44th day, I suppose.
But honestly, personal housing never should have been allowed in the wards in the first place considering they had to be dumb if they did not realize, there would be a big influx of new players once HW hit the stores.

I apologize, I hadn't noticed that particular line in the recount. That is a sad thing to hear. Thank you for bringing it up.

I thought housing was a waste of time anyways.

SE could of put a Chocobo Ranch in central shroud where one already exist let people use the stables for dying and leveling up.

They already have the airship adventures outside of the housing and the INN could of very well been just like FFXI you buy a private housing door at the INN and buy furnishing and can invite your partner inside or friends.

Gardening same thing, the workshop could of been a new goblin thing in black brush which docked everyones airships and could do adventures from there.

Only thing housing does is give the appearance of neighborhood community.

as for the outside furnishing remove it, put it towards having a bigger item sack god knows we need it.

Bet its gonna suck when a greedy person gets passed leader, then they kick every member just to lock the house and take 80% of that gil for the house because they don't care.

it happens, it happened in FFXI when people grab bank loot it will happen here just easier.

It seems like a huge oversight for the game to not make a distinction between someone whose subscription has been canceled, and someone who is still subscribed but hasn't logged in or used their house.

Something like "45 days after your subscription lapses, or 180 days after your house has last been accessed" seems a lot more fair for personal (non-FC) housing reclamation.

There are a lot of lifestyle situations where someone who is as active in the game as they could possibly be will not have access to the game for 2-3 months, once a year, while they play the hell out of the game the other 9-10 months. Trying to say that those people are inactive and don't "deserve" to have a house seems kind of... I dunno, infantile?

This reclamation system is pretty cruddy for people who own personal houses. I enjoy having a personal house and decorating it... but realistically I only really mess with it at the beginning of patches when new furnishings are added, so about once every 3-4 months. The convenience features that come with it, such as the armoire, summoning bell, and the FC chest are kind of pointless if you also have a FC house that also have the same features.

I'm generally on at least once a week so checking my personal house won't be an issue for me, well at least if I actually remember to do so. I do feel bad for those who like the un-sub for a month or two, or who have issues logging in due to real life problems... 45 days seems like a really short period of time when you consider the time between patches is 3-4 months, and every other patch is just a catch-up patch progression wise.

One thing I hope they do: make it visually very noticeable on your HUD when your house is on the path to get demolished. Email is a good step... but only having it indicated in-game via the timers is not so good. Personally, I only look at the timers section when I'm doing redscripts, and I even get lazy about that... it's not something that I personally check regularly. A mog mail would also probably help... if anything it should be like the GM mog mails where it flashes red in the corner of your screen so you know it's important.

This being said... I can't wait for a year from now when we will see people to threatening to quit for good because they lost their house and all their items because they unsubbed for 80 days. I don't know if they gil reimbursement is included in the 30 day deletion of housing items, but I have a feeling it might be.

At least now other people who are playing have a real shot at owning land currently not being used
Or they could just add more housing wards.... maybe even content...... Oh wait forgot #ServerStrain

And should they also take away your retainer's levels and gear as well? What about your character name after 45 days? How about they also make your gear go down ilevel by 50 for every 45 days you are offline?

It seems like a really cheap shot to keep people subscribed, it isn't a solution to fix the housing availability problem. Fixing the housing availability problem could be done in a ton of ways, none of which involve forcing players to login within an arbitary time frame that just so happens to guarantee you have to stay subscribed at all times or else.
Yup this guy <3 he gets it Kamikrazy you can't argue with the White Knights though lol

They should call this the "Goodbye to Eorzea" campaign, since there's a good chance that anyone that gets hit with it is going to be less likely to resub at all once they learn they've lost millions of gil. I particularly like the part where the reclamation NPC only holds your furniture/gil refund for a short time before nuking that as well, instead of, you know, making it available indefinitely. As if the space in the character data for holding it isn't going to be pre-allocated and always using HDD real estate in the first place.

Came in here expecting people complaining about this feature. Was not disappointed.

If you're no longer actively playing, much less continuing your subscription for any period of time, then you are the one being selfish for wanting to keep your claws onto a plot of land that could go to a player who is still playing and staying subscribed. 90 days is more than enough time to decide if you want to keep that plot or not.
