That extra line is only the German version. Not in NA, FR, or JP.http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...3e7ccabefa9954
No mention of 90 days anywhere in the NA version. Their mistake, not mine.

We are now going in circles, congrats. This brings us back to my 3rd post, their mistake, not mine. Which is the actual mistake we'll find out later. I find it hard to believe the JP, NA, and FR are all wrong, but hey weird things happen. I've looked at them myself by now and Spellbinder is right, that version is the only one with that extra line currently.※ Die Zählung der Tage beginnt erst mit der Implementierung von Patch 3.1.

Edit: anyways i'm heading to bed now. Either way, be it 45 or 90 days, its still a poor system, for reasons already being listed within this thread.

Step 1. A house is inactive for 45 days, it becomes subject to demolishing.http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...3e7ccabefa9954
No mention of 90 days anywhere in the NA version. Their mistake, not mine.
Step 2. House is subject to demolishing. after 30 additional days, notification etc. 45 days gets demolished.
Total days from last time someone used the house to being demolished. 90 days. 3 months.
Which allows players to keep their house, play for a month with each new update and take a 2 month break until the next one.
I want to point out to people that are saying you get 80% of the house value back... there are some items that will be destroyed upon removal. A perfect example if the Regal Mailbox, which is currently worth THREE TIMES on my server what my small house cost me when it was brand new. In fact, my furnishings overall come out to somewhere around 40m gil, and my house only cost 5m. Some of those furnishings I will get back, some I will not.
However, people who've said that using the "what if I lose gil if I don't subscribe?" as an example may not be accurate in the sense that houses are limited and use constant data and gil is not, are forgetting the fact that this action on SE's part will take away gil from the players. Even if you just count the base 20% value, when you're talking 2-50m, that's still literally millions of gil lost. Then add in the furnishings that can not be removed, and some people will be losing tens of millions of gil.
The only thing I need to decide now is whether to quit this game before giving this greedy, lazy company any more of my money, subscribe only every 45 days just to watch people still fail to get a house because THIS SYSTEM WILL NOT WORK, or use my alts to buy up more houses and keep eight locked down just to spite everyone who supports this idea.
Oh, and before anyone calls me shallow or petty for wanting to enjoy watching those who support this decision have no house(still), do remember that YOUR desires are now costing ME money, if I don't want to lose what I put time and effort into getting. Instead, this entire time, all of you should have been asking the people who make MILLIONS OF DOLLARS A MONTH on this game, one of the best selling MMOs ever, with over five million subscribers, to come up with a REAL fix instead of trying to rake in extra cash to perpetuate a trash housing system.
Oh, and yeah, I'm angry. I'm angry that they really did this, I'm angry that they gave it such a short time limit, I'm angry that the timer will only refresh for the owner even though shared housing could have allowed it to refresh from numerous people, and I'm angry that so many people are this short-sighted that they would support any system that removes what people put time and effort into with no real gain. Do some math, 92,160 total houses on all servers among 5,000,000 subscribers(ignoring FCs), that's 92160/5000000 = 1.8% of players have houses... now... take away all of their houses and give them to new people because they got evicted then you have... 92160/5000000 = ...1.8% of players still have houses! Hurray for a system that adds NOTHING, punishes people for taking a break, and still keeps 98% of the subscribers out of a home! Good job, fanatics!
Couldn't have said it better myself. People here are really short-sighted. And I'd also like to point out that:Do some math, 92,160 total houses on all servers among 5,000,000 subscribers(ignoring FCs), that's 92160/5000000 = 1.8% of players have houses... now... take away all of their houses and give them to new people because they got evicted then you have... 92160/5000000 = ...1.8% of players still have houses! If SE had a solution to fix availability (so that 100% of players could get houses instead of 1.8%) then this 45 day timer system would have been a waste of time for them to create, because they would have a long-term permanent plan to fix availability.
All this reveals is that they DO NOT have a plan, and are actively trying to reward themselves through their own failure to come up with one. If you really want to see availability improve and if you really want to fix the housing system, you must spit this back in their faces. This is insulting.

WTB your unused plots. Please tell.
What about active duty military members sent overseas for months at a time. They are being punished with this.
Get a care taker for it if it that important to you. Family member, friend someone you trust enough that can log on once a month that takes like 2 minutes. Then they can log off go continue with their life and you get to keep your house.
