In before they forgot to add a couple zeroes to the coding and all houses demolish instantly when we log in... and your email box gets flooded afterward with like 5 email warnings...
I'm just kidding... I hope. :x

Eorzea has natural disasters too
Just put it down to a group wiping on Leviathan and the housing ward was the collateral

Well I hope they double check now that you've mentioned it! It doesn't happen until 3.1 in November anyway so there's no excuse for them not to check that code! =D

Why should paying customers be penalized (not being able to get a house) while entitled non paying customers get to hold on to things they may or may not use again? I understand a lot of effort goes into buying a house and decorating it but if you aren't even playing the game...This doesn't fix the problem, this just needlessly punishes the players who got housesThis isn't going to work when every estate is owned by someone who doesn't leave it be for 45 days, in a year or so everyone will once again not be able to buy houses, and all this will do is annoy people and feel like a cheap gimmick to force you to keep playing the game every month even if you want to take a break from itTerrible choice, I'm very dissapointed in this awful design decision
It's like leasing a car. Not owning it. TOS reflects this quite clearly.

Well damn now I don't want a house.

Cmon, a new and better system would've been better, but we all knew they weren't just gonna scrap it and start over. (inb4 but ARR)
But yeah, even 65 days woulda been nicer. Then people can actually take a break (which is the number 1 piece of advice to every complaint ever) without losing one of the most expensive items available in game (probably with a decent amount of expensive furniture in it too, which apparently isn't refunded), with effectively 0 chance of getting another one.
At least you get 80% of the house's worth back. You can go spend that on something, presumably. I don't know what there is to buy except a house, though.
When in doubt, assume sarcasm
Thank you SE! It is nice that you have listened to our wishes and are trying to do something to help us get houses. You can't please everyone but the fact that I might be able to get a little house now and farm a little garden gives me something to hope for!

You can't compare housing to personal items stored on your retainer. Housing effects gameplay of other players where the latter does not.
Personally I think it's a net gain keeping paying customers happy as opposed to catering to fickle players who don't commit to the game long term.
As someone with two houses (a FC and personal one), I have absolutely no issue with this.
I can't see a reason why I'd unsub for 90 days other than being done with this game, in which case I don't think I'd care about my virtual estates... If my financial situation is such that I can't sub for 90 days... I think I'll care less about virtual plots and Gil, and more about real money... Likewise if something unexpected happens health wise... If I wake up from a 90 day coma I'm certainly not going to be cursing YoshiP...
Bottom line, if you're not paying a subscription fee, then there is no reason you should hold a plot over someone who does. If you want to take breaks, settle on a FC House with a Private Room, you don't have to visit the FC House for it to remain, just someone in the FC... Hopefully this will open up more plots and allow more FCs to actually get a house...
Honestly though, Private Rooms seemingly have no limitation (in theory, everyone on the server could have one if they're smart with FC membership)... I don't get why SE doesn't just offer Private Rooms at the four cities Inns and then tie those to the FC house if applicable... Everyone should be able to have a Private Room...

That is great news, im sure a lot of FCs will be very excited.
