Isn't this the male winner of the hair contest? Looks pretty nice in my opinion, shame they covered it with a hood but I assume that's on purpose.
I'd love to see a sneak peak of the female one

I'm more happy that this may point to us getting up hoods that don't hide our hair. So many games fail to ever implement that.

Has the same goggle-thingy on their arm that all the Scions have, so either way it is a unique NPC, and I really doubt they implemented hair styles from the contest that quickly... Given this is probably a new Scion (and the cat hood is what sells it on this being Krile) I can't imagine this is something they've just thrown together... This character was probably designed before the contest was even announced, let alone a winner picked...

Krile has been mentioned as a character in this game for a long time now (2.0 in fact, though only named in 2.1 IIRC), as a friend of Minfilia no less, given the events of 2.55 I imagine it would be fitting to introduce her now... Really cannot see this character being anyone else, given the hood...

data limitations. They might be able to add in a lot of hairstyles but they have to keep the variables in mind. For every new option added it adds on top of the variables.

Say you have 5x5x5x5x5 options. Able to use any variety of those options so you would have 3125 variables. Now you simply add 1 to one of them and you suddenly have 3750, now you add a 6th option with 7 so 5-5-5-5-6-7 and now you have 26250 variables. See how quickly it can add up as more options become available? The trick comes down to working on easing the stress of data while being able to add more into it, as they mentioned in either a live letter question or post, the Au Ra, pushed the limits to the character customization options which is why they couldn't have an option for horns per face instead the horns were part of the face.

The contest was for hairstyles to be implemented in 3.1, so yes they will be implemented that quickly.

I would kill for normal looking hoods and masks as seperate items from normal gear...I would rock a black hood and a skull mask.
