New player looking for help

I bought the game but i'm still on my first free 30 days before I have to start paying monthly, is there anything I can't do while on this 30 day period or should I go ahead and set up a monthly recurring payment on the moog station? Celest was going to send me a FC invite last night but said he couldn't if I was on the trail. But I have received other invites to FC's from random people I just didin't accept them.

I'll try again tonight, but i know in the past that the free trial had to be over to join a FC.

No worries, I was just curious if you misunderstood me and thought I was on the free trial like on PC without buying the game, but I have purchased the game. Just still on my first 30 days of free membership. I need to look into the moog station b/c if I'm missing out on stuff b/c of not subscribing yet, then i'm going to go ahead and do so. Also does it take a while to update the character gear on the website? B/c it has my level right but I changed all my gear last night and its still showing the old stuff. Sorry for all the noob questions lol

Oh yeah then I misunderstood. I thought you were still on the free trial, but the free first month is different. I'll catch you tonight or one of the others will.

That's true for the actual Free Trial, where people can play for up to 14 days without having bought the game. That's essentially like a demo of the game, with a lot of restrictions on it.

The 30 days that are included with purchase of the game, however, don't have any such restrictions. It's a full paid account at that point, with all the same rights as any other.

Sometimes the website falls a bit behind in updating character info. It should catch up soon. There was maintenance the other day, so that may still be why it's a little behind right now.

I'm fairly new to MMORPG's the only one i've played for a length of time was Archeage. With that being said I'm just looking for advice on what order I need to do things. I'm currently a level 13 Lancer. I just starting playing Saturday. I have joined the lancer guild as it told me to and done the quests, I want to get into gathering, crafting and farming. After doing some reading today it looks like I need to join a grand company but thats pretty much all I know.

Should I:
Join a free company.
Join the Disciples of land or hand guilds? If so how many?

This game is just so in depth its a little overwhelming to a noob like me at first and could use some guidance.

First off don't take the first Free company offer to be sent to you do your homework so to speak the higher ranked they are the better rank 8 is what you'd prefer. A free company with a house is best hopefully they have vendors and crafting stations for you to use and active buffs like leveling,crafting/gathering bonus etc.as for the grand company you can only join once you reach a certain point in the MSQ which is actually after you fight the first primal ifrit.

Depending on your server crafting might cost you more then your making if you start with that first so go for a gathering class first like Mining or botany mining is good since everyone always needs ore and metals for crafting once you have a good amount of gil then start on crafter class. And since your a lancer if you wanna go for dragoon job Get your marauder to level 26 for mercy stroke and pugilist to 15 for interal release and second wind both are very helpful.
