Funny thing about "always" here? I've never seen this happen when someone asks for an explanation. People just give them one. It generally takes 20 whole Earth seconds to type one out for a dungeon boss.

Don't be a dick to new players, or else Queue times reflect whether or not saving 30 seconds and chasing away all the new blood to the game was worth it.

Most bosses can be explained really quick, like 1-2 sentences tops. I don't mind explaining if someone is new, the worst thing you can do is just be silent and screw up mechanics(although most dungeons are easy enough and don't really punish you for screwing things up).

Not sure if I said it already, but...

When I Tank, I stand just past the purple line for a few seconds to see if someone is going to explain.
When I Heal or DPS, I never engage until the tank does.

Sometime's a boss fight doesn't need to be explained and you can just learn based on what you see others do. This is mostly for dungeon content, of course.

I just got my Warrior to 50 and I'm realizing that not paying attention to your teammates is a bad idea and can lead to some stressful situations. I get better feedback if I take the time to wait for people, and if I do a good job that's more fun for me too, if no one dies that is pretty much always a good thing.
If you dont have the time to type the whole question send a "Question!" beforehand and then start typing, worked for me.
If I can type "Don't kill bunnies" in a few seconds while fighting I could have done so even faster at the beginning, I don't know how that is for controller though, maybe that's the problem.

I don't really see this as a problem. Regular dungeons are not that hard, even ones at level cap, and there's really just not much to explain. Trash pulls are... well, trash. You just have to tank and spank your way to the boss... who is most often also a tank and spank. 9/10 times, any explanations that are needed are super simple (Ie: kill adds ASAP/push buttons. etc). It's mindless. There are a tiny number of fights that actually require any amount of explaining, so it's not really a big deal.

That being said, I have run into occasions when that message did not pop up at all in my chat box or on my screen, yet I find out at the end that one of the members is new (For some reason, I get the "mapping the realm" achievement notification in the chat box during the final boss, but not the "new member" notice. Not sure why. It only happens sometimes). At that point I feel a little bad for moving at breakneck speeds, but it's still not a problem. I've never had anyone complain, and they all manage to keep up with me, so no worries.

I take the "new member" message as a que to the tank to take it easy on the healer, not stop and explain the dungeon. I like to give my fellow players enough credit to assume they can figure out simple fights without someone nitpicking the rinse and repeat details that are copy and pasted in every single dungeon in the game.

I agree. Besides, most of the videos out there may explain some mechanics, but they don't show how the dungeons are actually run. For example, many dungeons have a speed run method or a way to circumvent some mechanics (i.e. stacking on Liavanne instead of taking out the adds in TT HM), yet the videos out for dungeons 99% of the time won't show those. So people telling others to "go watch a video" and expecting them to know the speed run pulls or tricks people have found is ridiculous.

If an explanation is asked for and someone just runs on, I stay behind. Taking a few seconds to explain can negate a lot of headaches and stress.

Why is the responsibility always on the veterans?

When I was new, I didn't want to be the reason we wiped or embarass myself by dying, so I read guides and/or watched a video.
