Swapping FC Allegiance - penalties?

Just a quick question for those in the know.

Our FC is currently allied with the Immortal Flames. It's rank 8, and we have a house/airship and such.

For mostly convenience and roleplay reasons our current membership would prefer if we now swapped to being allied with the Maelstrom instead - if we were to swap allegiance, what penalties would we suffer? Would we lose the Rank 8 status of the FC whilst we re-ranked up, or is that independant of company standing?

I'm just wondering if an allegiance change is a total company reset or if we'd happily keep the house/airship and such, and what we'd lose access to.

I believe there's no penalty for swapping allegiance, the only thing it affects is where you turn in items for daily GC seals. Also if you have any GC restricted item(ie: Maelstrom armour/weapons) you will not be able to use anymore if you switch to another GC.

That's if you personally change your allegiance and does not effect the FC which has no daily turn ins or furnishing restrictions.

You will keep you fc rank and not loose anything. Your standing will start at 1 in the Maelstrom and your standing with Uldah will slowly decrease. The only difference is you will need to go to Limsa to buy actions, change the crest and such.

I have switched and there were no noticeable differences outside that. Your airships are tied to your plot not your fc, the only way you loose them is if you relinquish your house and buy a new one. (which is insanely silly imo)
