My mom crochets as well, and sews. She makes doileys, tea towels, toaster covers, complete kitchen sets, table cloths, place mats, and on and on and on. She also does bracelets (the string a bead ones) "basically complete cheap jewelry sets". She makes cancer bracelets, etc etc.

To the point where that's her job literally, she goes around the surrounding 6 states where I live from craft show to craft show setting up her booth and putting out all of her stuff. She sells on Etsy and Ebay as well, and that's literally all she does. She can make as much as $10,000 in one weekend depending on the show and generally grosses around 70-90k a year because once she get's to a certain point she chills for months on end, having as much as a month of down time.....

So there's def good money in getting craftsy.

Just be careful with trademarked things, like SE might not like someone selling a moogle, but theres tons of them on there already so maybe they wouldn't care. Another good example is football stuff. E.g. my mom maid place mats for all the major football teams, and had an issue with trademarks on the steelers placemats, or just has a hard time finding material because it's trademarked so when you do find steelers fabric it's super expensive.
