I agree about the gap between content being very big but the majority of the playerbase are casual players, so obviously SE are going to cater to the majority.

OH no, god forbid the developers take a vacation after nearly 2 years. Shame on them -.- Seriously, its not like this game is your life. Stop complaining and be thankful they do anything for this game in the time frame that they do things. WoW had longer "no content periods" than this ALL the time.

It's a new expansion and the only "Difficult" content they have provided was Alexander, and the only EG was essentially the same fights made Savage.... That is inexcusable. Outside of the story and new areas, there is no substance to 3.0 for players to dedicate to. Also, do your vacation in roatations, A Group goes, B stays. B group goes, A stays. Why you would say screw it and let everybody go at once when your game just essentially launched with one of its biggest historical openings to let the fire die out after it was just lit.... is horrible management skills.OH no, god forbid the developers take a vacation after nearly 2 years. At this point when Aht Urghan Launched, we had Beseiged, Assaults, and Nyzul Isles by this long into an expansion...

The Dev team is not our family or friends who personally care about us. The team use retention mechanics right and left to keep us on the line with a hook in our cheeks like a doomed trout ready to meet a terrible fate.
You can act like the dev team is your personal buddy, but I am a paying customer and I want more for my money. Heavensward has just been a realm reborn reborn. They had eight months to work on the xpac from launch of final coil. If they really needed an entire year for this amount of content (3.0 + 3.1), content that has not deviated at all from the formula, then there is much more wrong with this game than a simple vacation.
Also, they could take vacations like a normal company? Why did they all go at once instead of having coverage like any normal business operation?
Your apologist skill rises by 0.2 points!
Them taking 2 weeks vacation doesn't have anything to do with it really...OH no, god forbid the developers take a vacation after nearly 2 years. First off, even if they took 2 weeks vacation, why would it take like 4.5 months (maybe more) for them to get 3.1 out, and not 3.5 months? or at least 4 months... They advertise 3 month patch releases, but except for 2.5, I don't think they have ever got that right.
Second off, players have been complaining for a long time now, and even if they got it out according to their normal schedule, it would still have been a problem. There is extremely little to do right now compared to how it has been before (except early 2.0)
You're right about not complaining as much as everyone is doing though... Just play less or take a break, and fill you're spare time with other games or doing something else

And so let them have their terrible gear treadmill to their heart's content, but making it so that there is essentially only 1 EG event in the game.... that is just annoying. In 11 you had Dynamis, Sky, Sea, and Salvage for years, til Abyssea came out even even then some of that gear was still worth getting for min/max. Although to be honest, I really wonder how they determine hard core or casual players. I mean they are essentially counting accounts that are not actual players as their player base already.
I think that that is the real problem. Their making to many easy things that can be done in a day. One hard mode end game content isn't enough.
This all comes back to how gearing up is designed I think.
This ^ right here. Its the people who are complaining more about what's wrong with the game who are the real supporters. Yet people keep getting replies such as I think you should take a break, this probly isn't the game for you and so on.
I remember some one posting said Yoshida said that people should probly take a break till 3.1....X_X....if this is true something is definitely wrong here.

What kind of producer tells their player base to stop playing and take a break? That is a horrible idea...I think that that is the real problem. Their making to many easy things that can be done in a day. One hard mode end game content isn't enough.

There should be enough content (even stuff you can do if you only log in for an hour!) so that no one would get so bored that they have to take a break. Wtf...lol seriously?
