Botting has always been around, but there was a significant rise of them when HW went live. Unfortunately, SE's hands-off approach about quick response to non-harassment cases and punishment only encourages the choice to bot. I mean, think about how win-trading is handled in this game. Zero punishment and the most they'll do is simply say "it's not encouraged to do it". I seriously do not look down on people who bot, but it still won't stop an occasional futile report or two from me. I just know, for a fact, botting will not get you banned as long as you're quiet/careful about it and don't use hacks in combination. Even then, hacks aren't exactly going to get you banned neither. Speed hacks, for example, were used by several botters I reported. They're still around with zero punishment after weeks of use.
