I wouldn't mind also getting the indicator as a little QoL thing, but the reasons for why it is the way it is are pretty obvious.
Ranged LB, the user cannot see their placement because the activation is similiar to that of melee. They can't see the projected AoE too cast they're channeling. Not to mention the cast time is so incredibly short that your party cannot react to it anyway as far as mob placement is concerned, and we can't aim with it either even if we were to stop-cast to "test the waters"

And when I do it see it from the other side, the effective range is laughable The mobs literally need to be lined up for it to hit, otherwise if they clutter on the tank (which they do on AoE pulls), you're only going to hit some of them because your AoE isn't any wider than a typical roegayden.

Oh and just to have icing on this shet cake, it's also less damage than the caster LB.
