A Guide for Unlocking Jobs and Cross Class Abilities

I find the video quite useful, but I do have a question about cross class abilities. My main is a Dragoon(lvl 42), and decided to level as a Conjurer as well. I have gotten Conjurer to lvl15, and have yet to be able to use any cross class abilities from the class as a Dragoon, yet I can use Maurader abilities and that class is only 15 as well. Do I have to level up Conjurer more to be able to unlock the abilities, or did I miss something? Cause I have read that you can use Conjurer abilities at lvl2, but have also read that in order to use Conjurer skills as a Lancer/Dragoon, that I needed to level Conjurer to 15.

You can never use conjurer spells as a dragoon. Once you upgrade to a job using a job crystal, you are limited down to only 2 additional classes you can draw skills from. One of them is the sub class you needed at lv15 to unlock that job, and there's one more additional class which is pre-defined you can use; all others cannot be used any more.

Some classes are not able to cross class to others. There are only 2 jobs which you can borrow from as a Dragoon and conjurer is not is not one of them. I would love to see if we could really start crossing over a larger pool of spells. That would open up a lot of customization options.

The Dragoon job is different from the Lancer class. You can cross-class any cross-class abilities as a Lancer. However, as a Dragoon, you can only cross-class Marauder and Pugilist skills. This is to emphasize the point that Jobs are specialized roles for tank, dps, and healer roles, while classes are more generalized. Classes are also being phased out in general and replaced with Jobs (because there's no reason to force players to grind through 30 levels for something they won't even use past level 35).

Cross-class abilities are at best for utility. Do not expect skills to give actual class mechanic benefits as it will be nerfed out. There is a reason blizzard does not give healers umbral ice (infintie mp).
