I'm not new, I just took a hiatus until last month, but yeah I missed your rant

Well, in your extended absence, I've become maybe slightly infamous as an Allag-hater, and, despite how I come across, it's not just because they brain-jacked my favorite character and made him seal himself in a tower for pretty much no reason beyond forcing a bittersweet ending on an otherwise fairly straightforward story. There's just a lot of things about them that make me very uncomfortable that ended up epitomized in that moment.

You know I actually wonder if that was the point, people ignoring the consequences and wanting to tip the scales in the favor of Light.

I just finished a mostly-literal translation of the Japanese script of the relevant section of CT as you posted that, but I will save it for a more on-topic opportunity. If 2.X is supposed to be the "yay light is good" arc that comes back in HW as "the WoL screwed up big time," it's certainly possible. I feel like it was a bit too obvious to be offhandedly ignored at the time like it was, but that could also become a plot point. Whether or not it actually will is anyone's guess.

Back on topic, I think the Vanu and Gigas might be connected to the Allagans in addition to the Ixal, and the Gnath at the very least took one of their weapons for a god. Just look at the Phantom Ray and tell me it's not their historical basis for Ravana.
