Possible speed hacking in Seal Rock

Hey PvPers!
My friends and I frequently queue seal rock for funsies but recently something caught our eye. A certain player from midgardsormr/Adders GC has been moving very strangely i.e. no sprint yet very quick, walking backwards yet extremely fast.
I would like to know if you all have seen this type of behavior? it's very different from lag, I would say he's cheating.
This person frequently plays as warrior or summoner

Yeah I encountered someone like that a few months ago, walking backwards (but at the speed of a sprint or slightly more). About 6-7 players including me were chasing that summoner around but we couldn't even touch him. Have only seen it once over these past few months.

Hah I wish I have only seen this once in the past few months. I've seen it thrice in the past 24 hours. I know exactly who it is and it's frustrating that we can't do anything about it but wait and hope SE see's our pleas (reports) to investigate.

Really is so cheap these idiots need to cheat...

Had a case in old frontlines a certain whm would double fluid you off the top, literally could stand in the middle and still get thrown off.

I hope SE sees this and bans that fool

Running/Sprinting backwards is also known as moonwalking, its using auto facetarget to face the selected enemy while still having full freedom of movement in any direction

Its also achievable manually using the ingame macro system, it isnt hacking

They're still moving with (faster) sprint speed without the sprint buff though from what they are saying?

The screenshot is kinda useless maybe its just moonwalking? If not you need to show us a vid I personally never saw hacker in FFXIV (only bots etc.)

I haven't seen someone doing this, but I wouldn't be shocked if it's real. Yesterday I zoned into a match with people talking about speedhackers in adders.

Did you report it? Even if you don't know his name you can still report him. Fill out the ticket with the time you saw it (with your timezone info), your datacenter(Aether), the offenders team(Adders), the offenders job at the time(SMN) and the area on the map you saw it happen(numberxnumber). It might be enough info to get him in trouble. It also might not be, but I say it's worth a try.

We already have eso farmers, bots and a screwed up queue. We don't need speedhackers too. :/

Based on the description, I'd say that it's still shady.

I play on Ps4, so I don't know what kind of mumbo jumbo you keyboard and mouse people are capable of, but facetarget substantially nerfs your movement speed on Ps4. Moving at the same speed as normal, let alone sprint speed or greater, would be impossible without some kind of mod. That's not to say that it is not possible of for PC gamers and that it's some kind of cheat, mind you, but Even if it's not, SE should look into it. The fact that this kind of movement would be utterly impossible cross platform in a cross platform game would indicate that they might need to balance something.

I'm sure PC gamers (proud owners of the title: Original MMO'ers) hate the idea of balancing gameplay to accommodate for different control schematics, but SE made the game available cross platform, and console gamers already have to work around some pretty gimpy controls. Movement, at least, should be an equal footing thing between the platforms.
