Derplander is an individual from the same dimension as we. Why would you want parallel dimensions, when there's a more convincing and realistic theory ? As far as we know, there are parallel universes (Shantotto and Lightning's event) but they have almost nothing in common with ours... Ferne was teasing for Meteor being an important character years ago, so That seems more relevant...
