Crafting ability idea: Hail Byregot

A fellow crafting enthusiast and I were discussing the disappointment of getting an Excellent when you're on the last step of a difficult synth.

We came up with this:

Hail Mary Byregot
Increases quality. Efficiency: 250%
Success Rate: 50%
Durability loss of 5
Can only be used with 10 or less durability remaining and material status of Excellent

(Alternate ability names: #YOLO, Byregot's Dice Roll, Nothing to Lose)

I usually have 5 durability for my last step so yea quite useless for me.

We also bandied about the idea of it being 0 durability loss if you have Whistle up.

now THAT would make specialization slightly useful! Why aren't there abilities like this yet?

So I am the person Catwho was discussing this with and after thinking about it some more, seeing as a Hail Mary is kind of an all or nothing long shot, to keep with the whole "this works or I fail" thing I though about some changes . . .
