You think our Cash shop is bad...take a look at THIS

I dont think its about gaining an advantage... for some people its just the principle when comparing payment models to other games... for example... im all for a cash shop but not at these prices + sub. I could see actual "microtransactions" like .99cents for things with sub but camon really. Some people are ok with the prices though.

One thing I want to add though, is that the OP's point doesn't hold water in the regard of this, just because other games have a "worse" cash shop doesn't necessarily mean that this one is acceptable either. We can still criticize their cash shop and leave feedback, just because other games have it worse doesn't mean this one can't get better. Nor should we be complacent and say "well that's just how it is." As to the folks that defend it by saying "well they need to make money," I say to you that the pursuit of profit is not some noble endeavor that is above reproach or criticism.

Personally I don't mind FF14s cash shop. I will continue to be fine with it until/if their shop becomes like SW:TOR's.

SWTOR's shop has:

-Gambling boxes for the newest glamours; gear, mounts, resting items and emotes(there are NO FREE EMOTEs pass the basic set).
-Gambling boxes for ALL dyes. ALL dyes are bought from the cash shop originally.
-Gear with stats(weapons included).
-Quests.
-Access to certain zones.
-Extra character slots.
-Extra hot bars.
-The ability to turn off your head slot.
-The ability to do more than 5 dungeons or pvp matches.
-The ability to respawn at the point you die.
-Access to "housing" which are called strongholds in SWTOR.
-Level 60 characters
-Pots
-Hairstyles, hair color, races, skin color,height, etc all have to be paid for separately.

I'm not saying people should accept FF14's cash shop... but SW:TOR's is a nightmare and I'm truly happy FF14 isn't as bad. For now.

Destiny I bought the expansion it wasn't worth it for the price horrible match making and no match making where there should be.
Friends boost each other to unlock the thorn or cheaters unlock thorn by cheating and they took a long time to get rid of cheaters but it was too late I quit.

Even their expansions aren't what I expect the lack luster and no new good weapons G.horn is best gun still and they made expansions.

The store probably over priced junk that you can get from raids.

The WORST thing SE has done is make extra retainers $2 a MONTH.

I pay more for my retainers than I do for my monthly sub, and that is rediculous
