They added most all the Scions now. Alphinuad is the only one available through quests iirc. FYI If I come off as being an ass, it's not intentional. I played this since its original failed release, and I love the game. I wanted to keep loving it and I am incredibly dejected with the direction the game is going. It seems less and less about making a good game and more and more about stringing people along and milking the community for every cent they have.

Cash Shops can be appropriate in subscription models, buts moving away from something that is there that pays for data migration/changes (Name/Race/Server) that goes into the development and maintenance of hardware. And more along the lines of SE sees as their cash cow and taking advantage of the community and their fans.

I see people are still grabbing straws defending and looking for arguments to defend the horrible state of FFXIV.

I don't know since when it's viable to compare a game you pay a subscription against a game you don't pay any, you don't pay a subscription for Destiny, you do pay for the online on consoles, but that's just to use both consoles overall online services, that being said, FFXIV cash shop is crap and should not exist, I'm not gonna defend it on any subscription based game other than the usual transfers, remake ticket etc. There's exclusive cash shop dyes in FFXIV and mounts...

Both aren't even comparable.

Hell. This game could've never left Japan, and been a Japanese-only MMO, with the creators constantly promising that they would give us further updates. Only to release a poorly translated SEA version with english so abysmal it makes your ears explode, as well as a region-lock on it to the SEA region. Ultimately would give up and go to using a Fan Translation patch to play on the Japanese server, where most of those players may well hate you because they're a bunch of Xenophobes.

This is a subscription game. There are plenty of people that feel that all items available should be obtainable in game since we are paying for it monthly. That's pretty much it.

Show where in your subscription agreement it says you are entitled to that. Oh, it doesn't, does it?
So you just want more than you are contractually entitled to it without having to pay for it. Typical, but wrong.
You are getting the game you agreed to pay for for your subscription. You're not entitled to more than that.

Riddle me this silverbane if the Developers just threw open the doors to the game and said "Pay us money to play this" and never updated it, and just left the game stagnant for years. How many people would pay to play that game?

My answer: I imagine not a soul.

The subscription Fee covers a consumers expectations that the developers will continue to release new content that is worth the money they invest into the game on a per-month basis. Wether legally obliged or not you would nothing but ruin by trying to enforce the TOUA on respectable business level it's legal backing to prevent a fallout if they fail to deliver anything worth cost but it's not something any developer would be sane to agree with.
