Obtaining Materia is still a RNG lottery of binding, but the grades you receive is actually consistent with that you are actually breaking down, and effects range from useful (like +5 Healing or something) to simply appearance (Turns DRK's abilities from swirls of of darkness to swirls of...light? Or something).
