I'd love to add relevance to anything that happens in the middle. All the stuff that happens before level cap/endgame. Right now its all a rush to get to the end because that is the only place where long term goals are met.

removing of any gear/content lockout.
I would much rather have what they were doing from the start, people use controllers and I don't want skill macro bars to be packed. where I am confused on what I can use and add more macro bars to clutter my view of the screen.
Example would be this.
Gladiator changed to Paladin and the paladin had a new job set of skills.
So it would be like this.
Paladin > Knight with new job skills
Warrior > Berserker
White Mage > Priest
Black Mage > Warlock
Ninja > Asssassin
Make a it where when you click job you can choose which class like say Paladin or Knight and choose what you want to macro.
So you can save your paladin job with all the old skills or save your new job with all the new skills.
adding tons of new jobs in the process without losing your favorite class.
Even if they add new jobs like redmage or bluemage and so on it gives the old jobs something to look forward to its just a thought.

Be able to glamour anything from any class (save for weapons, of course).
Naoki Yoshida:
Source: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/113554 at 1:14:22...Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
Cosmetic: the wardrobe system from SWTOR
Functional: Either a statement rebalance to increase the importance of secondary stats or proper set bonuses (reduced ability cool down, procs etc).

Some of these were mentioned, but I want a complete list, so:
Horizontal progression
Fun proc effects on super magic gear instead of simply +5 dexterity
A glamour log
More than one job choice for most of the classes
A new interesting battleground that isn't: go to the center of the area and ignore the mechanics (Like a siege of blitzball)
Some mistery that doesn't end up being a damned Allagan machine. (Looking at you, seal rock)

A housing garden pond with the feature of fish feeding and breeding, a fish race in gold saucer and a whole new fauna of green fish in HW.
If this was not possible...
More weapon customizable options (more dot damage, enhanced heals, decreased TP cost, decreased MP cost, 10% damage reduction, 5% damage increase, 20% CD reduction etc.).
This game feels too standard at the moment. Everybody was so hyped at first because everything was fresh new, if they do not come up with something people's gonna get bored eventually (I know I am...only reason I haven't unsubbed is because SE is my favourite company, Yoshi is the man and...I truly want to keep liking this game, it has given me too many good moments).

I would like a bit more individuality in jobs. that is the only thing i want, like i don't want my black mage to be the same as yours (i know player skills make the difference in that depratment) ,but i haven't seen that in any game lol i know it is too much or hard to do cause in the end you end up with the best rotation no matter how much diversity there is in a class i understand that, but somehow i would like them to do it, or at least make job specialisations, like 3 mains, like with crafters, that sort of thing
