Please implement a Cross-Server Friends List

I'd be very much in favor of this, especially since Balmung is always on lockdown for new character creation. It is awkward to recommend the game to someone and then have to follow the recommendation with, "oh, but, by the way, it is likely going to be impossible for us to ever play together."

Over half my friends are on different servers, this would literally be the best quality of life upgrade I could get.

Fully support this idea, for various reasons people I knew from way back in the day in FFXI ended up on various servers, mostly in the same date centre as myself, x-server friends list/partying would be awesome.

GW2 handles this in a pretty awesome way. You can befriend anyone, on any server, and you can send them /w's and even hop over to their server as a "guest" to do things with them.

So much of our time is spent in dungeons and raids with random people that we will probably never get the chance to speak to again. As others have mentioned, this encourages people not to bother talking as "what's the point"? Also, I think people are more likely to turn into jerkfaces because they know they'll never have to deal with them again.

What is this social decline people speak of? Has WoW's community declined into mass social anarchy? Is it now a world where it's killed or be killed? Do the living now feed off the dead? Please tell me! For last I checked it was just a game people still are supposedly playing and enjoying!?

I'd love this. I met a couple of people in DF that were amazing; good players, funny, helpful, friendly. And I'll never see them again =( It would be nice to have an option to friend them.

I know this thread is old but I think this is a fantastic idea. Now that we have PotD I'm finding a lot of people from other realms who I would love to group with again. If SE could make this happen it would be great!
