Suggestion: Queues for New Character Creation on Maxed Out Servers

    Hi, all!

tl;dr => Same as title. I'm requesting queues for new character creation on maxed out servers, please.

So first off, apologies if someone has posted something similar already. I haven't used the forums enough and I didn't know where to look manually, plus I couldn't find anything similar in the search results...

Now then, here's my idea in full. Have you ever wanted to make a character on a server that is listed as full on the Lodestone "Regarding Character Creation Restrictions" page (http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...06d0909189e479) and/or is grayed out in the new character creation screen? And have you then searched the SE forums, Reddit, etc for the best times to create one anyways and subsequently tried to login at all hours of the night and day per the instructions, only to be *still* denied the ability to create a new character on that server? I feel like I'm not the only one that has this problem. I was recently trying to create a character on Balmung, but it's apparently the most populated server in the game and no matter when I tried (I've literally tried multiple times within ever hour of the day over the last ~two weeks), I can't seem to get in! I haven't even seen the text go white to get a chance, let alone get that chance and then get denied as others have mentioned...

So here's my thought -- If players want to make a new character on a server that is full, how about this #squareenix ?

Could you please make a new-character queue style waiting list like the way we had a purchase queue for FFXIV fanfest tickets... except with no limits? An unlimited queue with slots simply handed out in a first-come, first-serve basis like using duty-finder as a DPS and waiting for role match slots. Even if we had to wait a few weeks on an email or text that our turn was up, at least we'd have a guaranteed spot and wouldn't feel like we had to keep trying every day and night with no hope in sight...

Ideas for the logistics of said queue:
    - Once a player's queue turn number is 'called', that players is given 24 hours to create the new character on the server they requested

    - Weekly / monthly / quarterly checks of the number of people that sign up in the queue for a given server can give the hardware team the info they need to know about when servers need to be upgraded [or split if upgrades are not possible] to accomodate more players that wish to join a specific server. For instance, it is commonly known among many that Balmung is the go-to server if you are the type of player for whom 'role playing' (i.e. 'RP' icon) is very important.

    Procedural specifics:
    - If a "spot" needs to be made to "reserve" their place on the server, maybe the devs can create a temporary template character that can be automatically made by the queue program with a random name in the format: "Temp Nc########" and...
    - The auto temporary character generated by the queue program can be a static template race, design, class, and namedate, and have a static patron deity, or it can be randomized everytime with the assumption that the character will have the "fantasia" and "rename" flags enabled so players can design and name their character upon first login -- ideally before they see the welcoming cutscene set so that they are able to form that introductory 'bond' with the new character as their own.

    or...

    - Queued players could instead pre-select their name, race, class, namedate, and patron deity, so that the queue code places their character 'placeholder' in the correct city automatically. They could then design their character via an automatic 'fantasia' flag next time they log in.

    Greatest benefit:
    - Remember back in XI how you guys said something to the effect of "Don't let this game negatively affect your life?" I'd like to think that you still believe in that principle. Well this 'quality-of-life' type change enables players to have the ability to create a character on their desired server without having to stay up really late or wake up really early -- sometimes multiple times, for weeks on end. Granted, I know I say this with the bias of someone writing this at 2:45 in the morning after trying to get in for two weeks, but surely I'm not the only one trying. I'd surmise that you probably have logs of how often people hit that "Obtain updated World information" refresh button. And if you were to check said logs, I'd bet that you would see a sizeable handful of people that really want in on one server or another...

So whaddya say, Square Enix? Would you please add this in a future patch, my tomodachi? It would me the 'World' to many adventurers-to-be. OK, bad pun, sorry... But really, I'd really appreciate it a lot and I bet that many other players and players-to-be would appreciate it as well.

    Thank you for your time!

(Footnote: Is this the right place to make suggestions that aren't gameplay bugs? I wanted to make sure it got visibility in the right place, but I didn't know where that should be short of just sharing this post on social media and maybe re-tweeting it to someone at SE or something...)
