What about this game keeps you logging in even if you're not totally happy with it?

This whole depressing attitude around here will change when 3.1 comes out...

The game have followed similar formula for some time now, and people didn't complain before (not nearly as many at least)... 3.0 just doesn't feature a lot of the content that was in 2.X.

The early parts of 2.0 was exactly the same as now... People where whining, and while it was for a good reason, it kinda stopped once more content came out with patches. The same thing will probably happen now. 3.1 brings us Void Ark, more dungeons, new primal, Relic quests, airship exploration etc. The game is gonna go back more to how it was before, and it will get even better with 3.2.

I'm not saying SE did a good job with 3.0, or that their formula is perfect (or even good), but a lot of players are overreacting I feel.

When 3.1 comes out, there will be more to do than we have ever had before in the game, and I doubt everyone just got bored of that content all of a sudden. Many have played since the release of the game, so why would it all of a sudden make everyone leave? I can understand that some people leave when the game doesn't develop over the years, but this suddenly? nah...



As for the question... Currently I'm only coming online to cap my Eso, raid and talk to friends.

Nothing really out right now, the MMO market is stale. WoW is not fun for me anymore and Wildstar was a failure.
As soon as something half decent comes out I'll head to that, FF is just a filler now, the game doesn't have much to do in terms of progression.

Capping eso's by wednesday/thursday then not logging in unless it's to raid the same 4 savage raids. Can't say I care much for golden saucer or things of that nature. Relic will at least give me something to do.

I've felt like that before too, but I've just accepted to like FFXIV for what it gives me. I don't do anything in the game that I don't like, just to keep me busy for example, and I accept that the game isn't perfect.

The reason I do that, is because the reality is... There are no half decent MMOs coming in the near future. Nobody is working on anything that will be out soon. Everquest Next doesn't look like something good IMO, and who knows when that will be out? looks like they scrapped everything they got, and are starting over.

I expect like 3 years before any decent MMO comes out.
