None-scripted encounters.
None-scripted encounters.
lol go outside and wrestle with a stray animal then then, everything is scripted. Even if the boss/arena chooses between a random list of abilities that is still scripted... then you would just hear people complain about getting unlucky with RNG on the tank buster going off 4 times in a row or some crap lol
I want more fights like AS3. Hard hitting cleaves, unforgiving mechanics, high DPS checks, rapid fire tank busters, and that omfg I just jizzed my pants upon clear.
I do not want to fight trash cans anymore, I don't want mindless AS1 tank n' spank, or 100% magical (or physical) fights that render one tank obsolete.
All that being said I do enjoy very tight DPS checks. It forces tanks (and all other classes) to play at their peaks... Which is what Savage is about. Honestly I would be pretty pissed if all the tanks were required to do was sit on tank stance and pop CDs for scripted hits... That is super boring.
Something that requires the raid (especially tanks) to avoid as much damage as possible.
Just having high damage output that can kill anyone hit by it is one thing, but that kind of all-or-nothing is boring and frustrating. A mechanic that limits either mp or healing could work better.
Greatly reduced mp regeneration would mostly affect healers, and forcing healers to be efficient with mp puts pressure on the entire raid to perform. DPS would have to kill faster, and tanks would have to reduce damage taken.
A side benefit is this kind of fight encourages some of the lesser used abilities. A Paladin could heal/stoneskin and use Riot Blade, for instance.
Soft enrage would be healers running out of mp. The fight becomes easier as every member of the raid gets better. Dps do more damage to end the fight earlier, and tanks need less heals.
Obviously this is kind of difficult to balance with all the different abilities all the jobs have.
I'd like to see more mechanics instead of such high dps checks but before we even see the next raid there's classes that need nerfed and buffed.
The mechanics in AS are actually easy its just the insane dps checks that make it hard.
More dynamic mechanics to deal with, similar to SCoB, I guess. More focus on teamwork dealing with mechanics then most of the focus on dps, or gear checks. Maybe split the next tier of raiding as midcore/hardcore content, then casual/hardcore too. /shrugs :/
Edit:
Or make more fights like A3S too. A1S/A2S I just really boring as a tank.

Tighter tank checks, requiring both the MT and OT to be on point with their mitigation and causing even auto attacks to be fully capable of killing the tank within seconds if tanks step outside of their tank stance. Also tighter healing checks.
Remake Second Coil but with Alexander robots instead of Allagan robots. Also just easier in general (and a more sane difficulty curve); I didn't enjoy 3/4 after the first couple of weeks. Also lessen the impact of the stupid tank debuffs so I don't have to switch to DRK because we have no monk.
Oh also double the number of bosses 4 is a joke and Alexander Savage shows it a lot. Groups get stuck killing only 2 things per week for way too long.
Alexander Savage sucks and is probably the worst set of bosses they've released. If they learn anything from it it should be what not to do.
