DRK - What's the order you'd suggest on spending eso?

    Hello.

i'm ilvl190 and going to start spending some esos. Currently I have 850 stored up and was thinking about getting the weapon first followed by chest.

    What do you guys suggest?

Also, what's the best tanking food? On faust should I use str potions since I'll be MTing??

Thank you all for your time.

Hey there Linkan \o yes and even more so yes, Get your weapon 1st as that will be the weapon you're gonna use for a good while and it should boost your DPS alot.

As for what order, well The Void Ark is around the corner so the last thing you wana do is get a iLV200 chest from there after you just spent getting the ESO one. It's all down to what you want to get 1st as the more stat increasing pieces cost more.

(Correct me if I'm wrong but the order is like this?)]
    Chest and Legs,
    Feet, head and Gloves
    Waist,

last acs are the cheapest but don't give off the most stat and even then you don't want a full set of Fending acs.

Honestly it depends on what you are planning on doing. If you have a static that will be progressing through Savage quickly I would buy left side pieces that have ACC on them to allow you to hit MT ACC caps quicker.

Assuming you are not running full pentamelds and ARE with a static they SHOULD be giving you STR accessories from AS1 clears which are otherwise a pain in the ass to aquire in PUGs because you cannot NEED roll them.

If you are running solo and PUGing it up I would probably buy some slaying accessories (slaying wrist and ring) first (after weapon.. Duh) simply for the ACC.

Don't forget that 3.1 is bringing a relic weapon and new gear (i200???). I would bet a shiny gil that the relic doesn't start off better than the current ESO main hand, so this should be your first purchase.

The ESO chest/legs are kinda gross (Parry/acc and skill speed/parry), so you could also consider 1) grabbing the head/hands/feet next and hoping that the Void Ark tank chest/legs have more appealing sub stats than current ESO gear. Or 2) Buying only the main hand and saving all other ESO until gear from Void Ark is confirmed. (may be more difficult if you are presently in raid)

From there I agree with Martin, Waist then accessories.

Food/Pots: I use Baked Papira Pira, and strength pots.

Buy weapon, then chest. Also, grab stuff from Alexander Normal. I would look at your Acc before you consider what to get next. But probably gloves/helmet.

Probably Baked Pipira Pira (Crit) or Grilled Sweetfish (Acc). Depends on whether you intend to go into Savage & need the Accuracy. All tanks should use Str pots.

But left side pieces. Weapon first, chest, pants > then the rest. Belt last. Make sure you watch accuracy. Sub stats are irrelevant at this point until horizontal progression sets are introduced, which will be in 3.1. But also remember the 200 pieces from void ark will not be upgradable like the eso pieces and if the trend of main stat increases between sets continues they won't be better than the upgraded eso pieces no matter what the secondary stats are because the weight of main stats has increased substantially vs the seconday counter parts.

TL;DR buy eso left side, weapon first, it's upgradable.

I'm going to assume "Sub stats" means "Secondary stats". In that case, tell that to anyone gearing up for Savage and trying to meet the Acc requirements. /facepalm

    My DRK Eso buy order:
Weapon --> Head --> Hands --> Belt --> STR bracelet
This is because these are BIS whether at ilvl 200 or 210.

Other Eso left hand side items for DRK are not BIS.

Body, legs and feet are junk because their sub stats are crap. But, you can still use them and few people would complain. Its not optimal however.

Food: HQ Baked Pipira Pira or HQ flint cavier if you want to be cheap.

For body piece, i would recommend waiting for 3.1. I am suspecting that the tank body piece from Void Ark will be BIS.

For feet, you may wish to stick with i190 prototype feet as its the best you can get for DPS in 3.0 with both crit and det on it.

Check out my PLD gear for an idea of how to gear for alex savage. Its mostly similar to my DRK's gear.

Getting bloated with uneeded accuracy for the sake of more main stat seems kinda waste if you have alternatives that gives slightly less main stat but offers full usage of secondaries(zero wasted points). I might be wrong as i dont know current values and i also suck in math.

Unfortunately right now it kinda DOES mean it's always better. The effectiveness of Secondary stats in relation to primary is much lower than how it was in 2.0. You need 7-9 of a secondary stat to beat out one more of a primary. Right now going from a 190 item with, say, Crit/Det, to a 200 with Sks/Acc would probably always be a boost even if the accuracy was all wasted. At worst it would be a sidegrade for DPS, but for tanks the fact that you get so much benefit from Vit it means it's pretty much always the right choice to think that ilevel > all (unless an upgrade puts you so far below the accuracy cap that you can't meet it with food).

There may be one or two rare examples of items for specific classes where the lower one is better in certain setups, but I think for tanks with the currently available gear there isnt a single item that's -better- than an item of higher item level in game right now.
