I immagen after losing Hauchefaunt, Ysale, almost losing Y'shtola, and the fact that most of the scions are still MIA probably had good old Magnus at the boiling point.

Add that to all the dark, savage, and arcane powers he's mastered along side the eye of the Dragoon, not to mention Blessing of Light 2.0, and I'm sure the pure hate Magnus was feeling for Tborden, the Knights, and the Ascians gave him quite a "God of Death" vibe when Tborden saw the inner Darkness I was hiding.

While it's hard to say exactly what Thordan VII saw when looking at you in his final moments, I get the feeling 3.1 will expand or clarify just a bit. It's titled As Goes Light, So Goes Darkness, so I'm betting the Warrior of Darkness will step onto the stage and get some depth into the story.

Anyway, while I don't RP I'd like to think the Warrior of Light (Temulun) looked down in Thordan in his final moments with a mixture of pity and contempt. We delivered his nation from Nidhogg's eternal torment, but he was too power-hungry to leave it be, and so we cut him down. Such a foolish, senseless waste.

Meo (my WoL) wasn't shaken at all, mainly because she never was a "hero" to begin with. She does things because she finds them interesting or because they help someone she cares about, not because she believes in a higher cause.
Naturally, that also means that she has no worries about what she might turn into or the implications of such immense power in one single human being

I'd really like to know what Thordan said in Japanese and French, because in German he just told me I was foolish, no "who/what are you" moment at all. I wonder if it was just something the English translators did to make it more obvious that Thordan was shocked how powerful we had become and that we seemingly (from his perspective) had no concience about how to use that power "the right way".

Chances are it'd be Anonymoose, Enkidoh, or maybe the equivalent loremasters in the German, French and Japanese boards

    Sorry about that..xD
    English: "You! Who..what are you?"
German: "What a fool you are!" (translated)
French: "But what kind of human/person are you, then?" (translated)
Japanese: No idea I'd like to know, though!

Having seen 3 of the 4 languages now, my theory is that basically he is questioning us how we can be considered a WoL instead of a WoD after what we did. Because right before his Famous Last Words, he talks about how we basically didn't give a shit about thousands of lives just to achieve something we consider "right". And from his perspective, that totally makes sense

Well on the one hand, before heavenward we weren't embroiled into a bonafide millennia long war, so for the most part, out character has the option to be the requisite messiah/Paragon that the WoL seemed to be portrayed as prior to Before the Fall, on the other hand, we can accept quests in Azys Lla that amounts to slaying dragons, among other things, and this is after the revelation of the war were made apparent.

Note the use of the term "Paragon" and that the people refereed as such are not only Echo Users...they are the Ascians, and its clear that SE might had picked the term for a reason, and that they have (and possibly still do) have designs on us before we gotten to powerful for them to handle.

I say let Elidibus and his Warriors of Darkness come. I'll stick a lance in them just like I did the other three Ascians and the now 20+ Gods I've got on my resume.

Elidibus is right to fear us, because now we can take away the immortality they once believed they had and effectively kill the unkillable. It's only a matter of time before our power is great enough to destroy them with the white auracite alone with no need of an Aether Bank to loan from.

(Yea, I'm definitely pushing that "Chaotic Good" boundary since the Dark Knight Quests.)

Well, if we're getting into alignments. . .
I feel like the game is pushing more Lawful Neutral than Chaotic Good, which also falls in line with Thordan's statement, because Lawful Neutral can be scary. We've shown time and time again that we don't do what we do because we're fighting for, say, the freedom of the beastmen from tempering, but because we believe we're fighting for a way things "should" be. And we do so by submitting to the will of the Goddess who, if Ifrit is not wrong, has tempered us and we don't really have a choice about it.

Even the Dark Knight quest falls back on this. There's a bit of chaos in there, but it submits to the law in the end.

Purely from the actions of the character and no RPing standpoint, I can't see the WoL falling anywhere near Chaotic Good. That would require rejecting Hydaelyn's orders and going at it on our own. Which, I admit, would be interesting and would be totally okay with. That could be how they neuter our power for another expansion.

How I see it is with the Blessing we are the enforcers of Hydaelyn's will and protection on, er, the land of Hydaelyn. If we don't do our jobs, we lose Her favor.

(And my opinion is, if we become strong enough to kill an Ascian without an outside aether source, Elidibus is right: we're too strong. That's just breaking the laws of reality.)
